Mark Pope has hit a significant career milestone.

With Kentucky’s 95-90 win over Mississippi State on Saturday night in Starkville, Pope now has 200 career coaching victories under his belt. Now in year 10 as a head coach, Pope won 133 games across four seasons at Utah Valley (2015-19) and 162 more across five seasons at BYU (2019-24). His win against the Bulldogs was only his 13th at Kentucky, but it was undoubtedly one of the biggest of his decade-long coaching venture.

And in true Pope fashion, he refused to take any of the credit.

“I mean, that’s great. That’s like 100 down the list,” he told KSR postgame when asked how he feels about his 200th win. “I’m just so happy for our guys.”

Even more impressive? Pope is now 4-0 against Top 15 opponents this season — the most by any team so far in 2024-25. Kentucky has beaten Duke, Gonzaga, Florida, and now Mississippi State. With the win over the Bulldogs, Pope now holds an overall coaching record of 200-111.
