Kentucky's Will Levis tabbed to Davey O’Brien QB Class of 2022
The Davey O’Brien Foundation, which hands out the oldest and most prestigious college quarterback award, is high on Kentucky QB Will Levis.
On Tuesday, it was announced that Levis was tabbed to the Davey O’Brien Quarterback Class of 2022. Now in his second season with the Wildcats, he was also named to the Davey O’Brien Quarterback Class of 2021. Already this season, Levis has made watch lists for the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm, Manning Award, the Walter Camp Player of the Year, the Maxwell Award, the CFPA National Performer of the Year, and the Reese’s Senior Bowl.
Through eight games this season, Levis has thrown for 1,733 yards and 13 touchdowns for the 5-3 Wildcats, ranking 11th national in yards per attempt (9.07) and 23rd in passing efficiency (158.4).
Kentucky’s signal-caller is one of 40 semifinalists that you, the Big Blue Nation, can vote to win the 2022 Davey O’Brien National Quarterback Award. The first round is open now until Friday, Nov. 11, at 1 p.m. EST. The 16 semifinalists will be named on Tuesday, Nov. 15. Three finalists will be tabbed on Tuesday, Nov. 29, while the winner will be announced live on Thursday, Dec. 8, on The Home Depot College Football Awards on ESPN.
The Davey O’Brien Foundation was created in 1977 while the National Quarterback Award was first issued in 1981. Levis would be the first Kentucky player to win the award.
