Cincinnati decommit Khamari Anderson will visit Kentucky

After six years at Cincinnati, Luke Fickell finally decided to make the jump to the Power Five. Even with the Bearcats moving to the Big 12 in 2023, the former Ohio State defensive coordinator is returning to his Big Ten roots with Wisconsin.
That has thrown a wrench into Cincinnati’s top-25 recruiting class. In the last week, we have seen multiple decommits occur while candidates Brian Hartline (Ohio State), Tom Herman (Florida Atlantic), Alex Golesh (South Florida), Deion Sanders (Colorado), and Jim Leonhard (Wisconsin) have all found new homes or have committed to returning to their schools.
Kentucky is attempting to make a move on some of those free agents with less than three weeks remaining until National Signing Day on Dec. 21. Khamari Anderson is a prospect to watch.
The top-500 recruit committed to Cincinnati in February and would take an official visit in June as his recruitment seemed to be closed. That has changed with Fickell’s departure. Anderson spoke with Allen Trieu of 247 Sports and confirmed that he will be making the trip to Lexington for an official visit next weekend.
“I only have one official visit planned as of now to Kentucky the 10th-12th, but I plan on visiting Washington and Alabama as well,” Anderson told 247Sports.

Washington offered the tight end this week and Alabama issued an offer in May. But Kentucky appears to be the team with the best shot to complete this flip. At 6-foot-4 and 230 pounds, Anderson is a true in-line tight end that should provide blocking value. However, there is enough athleticism there for the prospect to develop into a true two-way threat and provide passing game value.
Kentucky could add to the Detroit pipeline
Playing at Detroit (Mich.) Cass Tech, there is an obvious connection for Khamari Anderson at Kentucky. That is a high school that Kentucky has recruited well.
DeAndre Square came to Kentucky from Cass Tech and would start in the Citrus Bowl before becoming a multi-year captain at Will linebacker. Deone Walker picked Kentucky over Michigan in the class of 2022 and became a freshman All-American this season.
A similar path could be available for Anderson. Will Kentucky add to the Detroit pipeline?
