We are four months away from national signing day, and Kentucky is holding steady with 15 verbal commitments in the class of 2023. The coaching staff, with help from the recruiting department, is now working on getting targets on campus for official visits in the fall. But rising seniors are not the only prospects that are being pursued by Kentucky.

Buford (Ga.) High EDGE KingJoseph Edwards (6-4, 240) is currently a top-50 prospect in the class of 2024. The blue-chip prospect took unofficial visits to Florida, Georgia, Miami, Michigan, Michigan State, Oklahoma, NC State, and Tennessee over the summer months. The rising junior is currently planning out a visit schedule for the football season.

Kentucky is set to receive an unofficial visit from the prospect when the Cats host Northern Illinois on Sept. 24, reports On3’s Jeremy Johnson.

KingJoseph Edwards has 11 gameday visits scheduled for the fall. In September, the high four-star prospect will head to Ohio State and Kentucky. Georgia might be considered the favorite at the moment as Kirby Smart’s program has hosted Edwards on campus three times over the summer.

Work done during the season will be vital in this recruitment before the prospect starts narrowing his list going into next summer. Kentucky has thrown its hat in the ring and will look to close some ground when KingJoseph Edwards heads north to Lexington in a few short weeks.
