Kentucky commit Kiyaunta Goodwin taking official visit to Florida State
When it rains, it pours. On the heels of four-star offensive tackle Aamil Wagner’s commitment to Notre Dame came news that Kiyaunta Goodwin, the star of Kentucky’s 2022 recruiting class, will take an official visit to Florida State. Goodwin’s trainer Chris Vaughn told Steve Wiltfong that the five-star offensive tackle will be in Tallahassee this weekend for the Miami game.
So far, Goodwin has taken an official visit to Alabama and an unofficial visit to Michigan State. He has an official visit to Michigan planned for Thanksgiving weekend and has attended every Kentucky home game this season. Our Nick Roush is hearing an official visit to Kentucky is unlikely at this point. The 6’8″ 325 lbs. giant is On3 Consensus’ No. 14 player in the country and No. 1 offensive tackle. He committed to Kentucky in April. The Cats were the first school to offer him, back when he was only in seventh grade.
Goodwin’s commitment to Kentucky seemed secure for months. Just last month, he told On3’s Zack Carpenter he was blown away by the atmosphere at the Florida game; however, college football’s big boys — specifically Alabama — did not give up. Signing Day is just over a month away. Let’s hope that Goodwin’s longstanding relationship with Vince Marrow and Kentucky’s staff wins out to bring a generational talent to Lexington.
