The transfer portal does not open until Monday but news is flying off the handle. The early signing period does not close until Friday, but the entire sport has pivoted to the free agent market on Wednesday night. Kentucky saw a handful of scholarship players announce their intentions to switch teams on Hump Day.

A former Kentucky defensive back will be looking for a new college football home. Kobi Albert will enter the portal for the second time after spending two seasons at Mississippi State.

Kobi Albert was a top-500 recruit in the 2022 high school cycle who flipped from Kentucky to Auburn. The Alabama native spent one season at Kentucky before deciding to leaving the program. Albert played 17 snaps for Kentucky in 2022 before missing the 2023 season at Mississippi State. After playing in only four games for head coach Jeff Lebby in Starkville, Albert will become a free agent again. The class of 2022 prospect will play for his fourth head coach in 2025 after playing for Lebby, Mark Stoops, and Zach Arnett.

The defensive back is now a redshirt junior with two years of eligibility remaining. This former Cat is on the move.
