Words I never thought I’d type are being typed: Koby Brea was handed a baby after drilling seven 3-pointers in Kentucky’s top-10 win over Florida.

The second part of that statement is understandable — Brea is one of the best shooters in the world and the Wildcats are pretty darn good. But where in the hell did the first part come from? Let me paint the picture for you.

After wrapping up postgame media and radio, Mark Pope sticks around to sign autographs and take pictures with fans. If he can’t, he gives free ice cream away to thousands of fans. One or the other. A few players join in after big games or moments — the entire team came out and signed autographs after the Louisville win — but it’s usually a quick turnaround so they can get to dinner or bed or whatever. With this one being an 11 AM tip, though, Koby Brea stuck around about as long as Pope did to meet with Big Blue Nation and celebrate the big win while the fans celebrated his individual performance.

One fan got so excited after Brea went for 23 points on 8-11 shooting and 7-9 from three that he handed the fifth-year sharpshooter his child. And not just any child — a whole newborn.

Brea then took the baby the entire length of the floor down to Coach Pope on the other side of Rupp Arena, posed for a picture, then walked it all the way back. I’ve never seen anything like it before, and I’m not sure we’ll ever see something like it again.

Take a look:

And the photo evidence, courtesy of Dylan Ballard of A Sea Of Blue:

The fan’s name is Clay McMichael and his baby’s name is Kade, according to the man himself.

Big Blue Nation is different and nobody can ever take that away from us.
