Kroger Hometown Community Tour: Boyle County - Tommy Ziesmer
Thanks to our good friends at Kroger, we’re back on the Hometown Community Tour. Today’s episode features Kentucky commit Tommy Ziesmer. The Kroger KSR Game of the Week was in Title Town last Friday for a crosstown matchup between heated rivals Danville and Boyle County. The dynamic defender put on a show in front of a packed stadium.
The 6’2, 245-pound Ziesmer committed to Kentucky May 14. The senior plays defensive line and is also utilized in different roles on the offensive side of the football. Ziesmer is the No. 4 player in the state of Kentucky according to the On3 Consensus. Ziesmer was pursued by Neal Brown and West Virginia before he ultimately decided to commit to Vince Marrow and Kentucky.
“I just love UK. I’ve been there for a lot of UK games and every time I’m down there the coaches treat me like family,” Ziesmer told KSR.
The Big Blue Nation welcomed Ziesmer with open arms. He’s happy to represent his home state right down the road from Danville.

“It’s real close to home. My Mom loves that and I’m a Momma’s boy,” Ziesmer admitted.
He is coming off a junior campaign that saw his team go 14-1 and capture their second consecutive 4A state championship. Ziesmer registered 61 tackles including 27 solo and a team-high 10 QB sacks last season. He’s recorded fourteen tackles including five for loss and a blocked punt so far in 2022.
Boyle County is one of Kentucky’s most dominant high school football programs. Coach Justin Haddix’s Rebels are the state’s top-ranked 4A team and are expected by many to win another title. Tommy Ziesmer will lead the way. We hope you enjoy our conversation.
