Can you believe that Friday will be the last week of the 2022 regular season? It’s flown by and we’ve had a blast crossing the Commonwealth to bring you stories of unique communities in football towns across Kentucky. The last Kroger KSR Game of the Week of the regular season will feature Frederick Douglass traveling to Boyle County.

These two giants reside in differing classifications. Host Boyle County competes in 4A. The visiting Broncos play in 5A. That won’t matter on Friday when two of Kentucky’s most recognizable brands face off in Danville. KSR is sending a small Army to Boyle County to cover the game.

I’ll of course be there to provide another look at the community and these two football teams that will both soon be contending for a state title. KSR’s video team, which consists of Steven Peake, will be filming highlights, postgame interviews, and perhaps something new? Interns Brady Byrdwell and Daniel Hager will also be roaming the sidelines to provide the best updates on KSR’s social media platforms. Zack Geoghegan is also planning to attend this star-studded event to discuss recruiting storylines. Who knows who else will be there? Maybe we can have a staff meeting at halftime?

Frederick Douglass enters the contest ranked No. 2 in the KSR Weekly Poll. Boyle County comes in ranked No. 7. The Rebels have won consecutive 4A state championships. The Broncos fell to South Warren a year ago in 5A title game. There are multiple UK commits in this one and more that have pledged to other Division I programs. The matchup also features multiple underclassmen with many offers. It doesn’t get much better than this matchup in terms of personnel, coaching, and recent history. Boyle County got the better of Douglass to close out last season. Who will win this year? See you in Danville.

Kroger is a staple in your hometown community just like high school football. There’s nothing quite like Friday nights in the Bluegrass. We are honored to share this journey with Kroger and you for the third consecutive season.
