Kroger's Kentucky High School Football Rundown - Quarterfinals

The Kentucky high school football postseason wrapped up quarterfinal play on Friday night as 22 of KSR’s Top 25 ranked teams were in action across the state. Only three of those 22 teams were eliminated from the playoffs — all ranked among the top six. Now, we turn our focus to the 12 semifinals matchup, which will take place on Friday, Nov. 24. Only two wins separate six teams from being crowned state champions at Kroger Field in just a couple of weeks.

The big draw of Friday’s quarterfinals was the showdown between KSR’s top two teams in the entire state: The Kroger KSR Game of the Week featuring No. 2 Corbin at No. 1 Boyle County in a rematch of last season’s Class 4A state championship game. The game more than lived up to the hype too, coming down to the final possessions. Boyle County was able to fend off Corbin 21-14 after the Redhounds failed to convert a fourth down in the closing minutes of the fourth quarter.
