Mouhamed Dioubate Film Breakdown

Many offseason transfer portal additions are mysteries for college sports fans. They often come from programs you rarely saw on TV. That’s not the case for Mouhamed Dioubate, who played against Kentucky four times over the last two seasons during his time at Alabama.

Even though Big Blue Nation generally has a good idea of what he’s bringing to the frontcourt, KSR’s Brandon Ramsey took it a step further in this film breakdown with Steven Peake.

“An outstanding rebounder, he’s going to completely change Kentucky on the offensive glass,” says Ramsey. “Kentucky finished 229th in KenPom in offensive rebounding percentage this past season. However, Dioubate was one of the best individual offensive rebounders in the Southeastern Conference.”

Dioubate had an offensive rebounding rate of 13.0, which ranked in the Top 75 nationally. While his scoring and shooting don’t necessarily pop off the page, he does all of the little things well. He sets strong screens and cuts hard to the basket, priorities for players in Mark Pope’s system.

Not only can he crash the glass, he’s a versatile defender that can match up with a guy like Johni Broome or Otega Oweh. Length and athleticism were weaknesses on Mark Pope’s first Kentucky basketball team. Dioubate is bringing that to the Kentucky frontcourt in 2025-26. Take a closer look in the latest KSR Film Breakdown.
