Only two games remain in the 2023 Kentucky football regular season. Will it be a 6-6 or an 8-4 campaign? The Cats control their destiny as they attempt to write a successful legacy in November. It all starts tonight in the middle of a rowdy Sandstorm at Williams-Brice Stadium.

The South Carolina Gamecocks have been underwhelming in year three of the Shane Beamer era, but there is some newfound confidence within the program. After starting 2-6, the Gamecocks have won back-to-back games at home to keep hopes of postseason play alive. It can only be preserved with a perfect November. Kentucky can wreck it.

Mark Stoops has dominated this series. His only two losses since 2014 are with backup quarterbacks under center. Devin Leary is ready to go, and so is Dru Phillips, the starting cornerback who played high school football nearby and was sidelined last week. The Cats need the secondary at full strength against Spencer Rattler, who’s consistently creating explosive plays with Xavier Legette.

There’s potential for a shootout in Columbia. The stakes are high for each team. Who will show resolve underneath the bright lights? We’ll find out tonight on the SEC Network.

Kentucky vs. South Carolina Gambling Angles

There’s been some serious line movement. Once favorites, now the Wildcats find themselves as 1.5-point underdogs, with a total of 51.5 at FanDuel. This is the largest total for a Kentucky game against an FBS foe this season. The under is 7-1 in the last eight meetings between these two programs. The Wildcats are 8-2 ATS in this series since Mark Stoops arrived.

Rocky Start to the Road Trip

It’s not what happens to you, it’s how you react to it. This KSRoad Trip hit a little adversity in the mountains in the form of a Jeep moving at a high velocity. The only thing damaged outside of the bumper was my ego. I’m on a heater in all of the worst ways right now, that’s why it’s a good time to #FadeRoush.

Sandstorm SZN

South Carolina has not been great this fall, but their fanbase is rallying down the homestretch. Before entering the stadium, Gamecock fans will be treated to a performance by Darude, the DJ who created South Carolina’s “Sandstorm” anthem. The set begins at 4:15 and I get the sense from folks down here might be prioritizing that over attending the game. Either way, the Finnish electric music creator has folks fired up. He’ll help lead Shane Beamer’s team out onto the field prior to kickoff.

Kentucky Basketball Wins Big at Rupp Arena

John Calipari’s Wildcats, hosts of the illustrious Wildcat Challenge, returned to Rupp Arena and picked up a relatively painless 101-67 victory over Stonehill. Kentucky started slow, then hit their stride behind an outstanding three-point shooting night from Reed Sheppard. The Kentucky kid made 7-of-8 from downtown to lead all scorers with 25 points. The Cats shot netted 17-of-32 three-pointers and finished the night shooting an incredible 64% from the field.
