With the fall sports season right around the corner, we here at Kentucky Sports Radio are once again looking to add another talented member to our passionate workforce. KSR is searching to hire a social media college intern (paid) for the upcoming 2024-25 school year. This person must be a current student at the University of Kentucky who does not graduate until at least May 2025.

Over the years, KSR has seen a high number of our interns go on to acquire full-time jobs in the world of sports including at organizations such as ESPN, Sports Illustrated, On3, various local television and radio stations, and even within KSR itself. Over the last two years, six KSR interns have been hired for full-time opportunities within the world of sports journalism.

With that in mind, in an effort to expand our reach even further, we’re looking for someone who specializes in social media promotion. A background in sports is not required for this position. This person should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills to appropriately communicate the message and build KSR’s brand. They should be up to date on the latest viral trends and then find ways to incorporate them into their content.

Internship includes an hourly rate of $10

Responsibilities

  • Create timely content and help with the various social media accounts including X/Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok (specific focus on TikTok)
  • Developing and implementing social media campaigns
  • Posting content across social media accounts
  • Interacting with users across social media accounts
  • Strengthening KSR’s brand and reach
  • Must be able to work under a deadline

Interested in applying? Here’s what we need from you:

  1. Updated resume
  2. At least 3 examples of your work (via any social media outlet)
  3. Your availability during the upcoming college semester

Send all of the above to [email protected] to submit your application. The deadline to apply is Wednesday, August 28th.
