It’s almost football time in the Bluegrass!

While the Kentucky Wildcats are still another weekend away from hitting Kroger Field for the first time in 2024, the high school season gets underway beginning on Friday and Saturday. Week 1 features plenty of highly-anticipated matchups, perhaps none bigger than Frederick Douglass heading out west to face Bowling Green at Western Kentucky University. Trinity will also make its way to Lexington for a showdown against Bryan Station while Corbin will open its new field against Pikeville.

In short, there will be plenty of Top 25 matchups spread across the opening week of games. And speaking of the Top 25, we here at KSR have released our preseason statewide rankings in preparation for what should be another exciting season on the gridiron. This year, we’ve recruited additional voters to help expand our rankings even further.
