One word to describe Kentucky’s 66-57 loss at Ole Miss? Demoralizing.
Kentucky had the win right in its hands, but after leading for over 27 minutes of the game, the Cats faltered late and now sit at 19-3 (8-2 SEC).
Other than Clara Strack, who set a UK record for blocks in a game by a single player with eight, the main story of this game was just how poorly Kentucky competed on the glass. The Rebels out-rebounded Kentucky 54-33 overall and 27-4 on the offensive glass. Not great, Bob.

Teonni Key was another ray of positivity in the game, putting up 18 points, 10 rebounds, four blocks and three steal in the loss. Amelia Hassett, however, was as bad as Key was good. In 29 minutes of play, she didn’t attempt a single shot and was a total non-factor offensively.
The loss, on paper, wasn’t a bad one. It’s just that the way Kentucky lost really, really sucked.
