KSR Road Trip: Kentucky upsets Tennessee in Knoxville
What’s it like going into enemy territory and coming away with a win in a sea of disgusting orange? Kentucky did it, defeating Tennessee in Knoxville to give the Wildcats their sixth top-15 victory of the season. It was magical watching those VolunTears hit the exits in the final seconds, crying about a third straight loss on their home floor against their bitter SEC rival. All of the birds and boos flying our way made it more special.
How did Mark Pope and the Cats take over Thompson-Boling Arena and celebrate to the tune of Go Big Blue chants in the final seconds? What made this one different than the others? And how did the KSR crew take it all in stride, starting with a memorable stop at Popeyes, followed by a Go Cats from the front desk guy at the hotel — one that has been very kind to us — and a few good calls before tip-off?
