The Big Blue Nation entered November with high expectations. There was hope that Kentucky football would host No. 1 Georgia for a memorable game on Nov. 19 and that the clash with Gonzaga on Nov. 21 would be between undefeated powerhouses as a potential Final Four preview.

Well, the Cats lost to Vanderbilt last Saturday on the gridiron and followed it up with a double-overtime loss to Michigan State on the hardwood just over 72 hours later. The air has gotten let out of the balloon as there is now a real doomsday opportunity of losing possible before the holiday season gets gassed up.

But we have to play the games first. Last night at Rupp Arena, Kentucky bounced back strong with a nice win and the Kentucky football team continues to say all of the right things.

Offense leads way to big win over South Carolina State

Many in the Big Blue Nation were rightfully upset on Wednesday morning following an unimpressive offensive showing against Michigan State. Kentucky struggled to shoot from three (7 of 25) and had a hard time generating offense in crunch time.

We’ll learn a lot more in Sunday’s top-five tilt against Gonzaga, but Saturday’s 106-63 beatdown of South Carolina State felt like a step in the right direction. The Cats found their stroke from three (10 of 24) and scored 48 points on dunks and layups. Kentucky was able to do all of that damage with Oscar Tshiebwe playing limited minutes and seeing his 17-game double-double streak end because of that.

Putting a bow on Georgia prep

It’s been a different game week for Week 12, to say the least. Following Kentucky’s embarrassing 24-21 home loss to Vanderbilt, things are not looking good for the Wildcats just in time for No. 1 Georgia to roll into town.

We are all on Rich Scangarello watch as the first-year offensive coordinator is firmly on the hot seat with two games left in the regular season. The offense is putting together some ugly numbers and there was even some public criticism from a player this week.

In the meantime, we must all get ready to see how Kentucky matches up with Georgia. The Bulldogs again have the best defense in college football, some total freaks at tight end, and a veteran quarterback that is playing at a very high level.

We will have some more pregame content coming your way over the next two days, but most of this week is about what the future of Kentucky football could look like. Nick Roush and I dug into that on the latest episode of 11 Personnel discussing how the offense got to this point and what could come next.

Crisis at Twitter HQ

Elon Musk has purchased Twitter and ever since there has been a lot of created chaos. On Thursday night, that reached panic levels as many believe the beloved bird website could disappear at any moment.

After giving multiple employees a deadline for an “extremely hardcore” culture reset, that passed on Thursday and it looks like a large chunk of employees decided to leave the company. Once that news was leaked, many began to wonder if this is the final moment of Twitter.

For anyone in the sports world, this is a pretty important development. Most of our communication with each other is done on the popular real-time social media app. It’s where we get our news, go to vent during games, and spend time seeing what’s going on in our own created news feed. We’ll all be watching closely to see what developments come from this.

As of right now, things still seem to be running smoothly but a lot of people fear that the end is in sight.
