It’s been three weeks since our nation celebrated Thanksgiving. Now feels like as good of a time as ever for the Big Blue Nation to give thanks. It’s a great day to be a Kentucky fan. You can’t say the same about folks across the Commonwealth who cheer for the red team.

Louisville fans have endured heartbreak year after year after year. We drank their tears and celebrated their failures. The day Rick Pitino got fired our poor website couldn’t stay alive long enough to handle the traffic. Drew Franklin did not need to photoshop a Yum Center without a Championship Banner. The NCAA just took it away. The author of Breaking Cardinal Rules delivered an unforgettable line on Kentucky Sports Radio, one we still laugh about to this day.

It was hilarious. Their pain was our pleasure. Now those tears don’t quench the BBN’s thirst. Louisville basketball is just sad.

Remember when your parents yelled at you after you got in trouble? Then one day you heard, “I’m not mad, I’m just disappointed.” That’s how it feels after watching Kenny Payne handle the Koron Davis situation with as much tact as an infant learning to walk, then rolled the ball out in front of dozens of fans to watch them get embarrassed at home by a 3-win basketball team.

Louisville has reached a sad new low. One week from today we’ll watch the Wildcats run all over them and we’ll enjoy it, but not as much as we enjoyed ripping their hearts out in Indy back in 2014. This isn’t even fun anymore. It’s just sad. Be grateful you’re a Kentucky fan. It could be much, much worse.

While ESPN was rolling out the games week-by-week, the Kentucky football account previewed the matchups with the help of AI. Even though it got a little redundant, this feels like it perfectly captures the essence of the Governor’s Cup.

Kentucky Lands an Explosive Transfer Portal Receiver

College football free agency moves are happening fast around the Kentucky football program. The Cats have lost three high school commitments in the last week, but picked up two impact portal players over the last two days. 24 hours after RB Chip Trayanum committed to Kentucky, North Texas WR Ja’Mori Maclin pledged his allegiance to the Big Blue Nation.

A 1,000-yard receiver last fall, the second team All-AAC selection ranked in the top 10 nationally in explosive plays. Maclin is the deep threat Liam Coen’s offense needs. We discussed the significance of this addition and much more on 11 Personnel.

Throwback Thursday

I must’ve missed this edition of Pardon the Interruption back in 2009. It’s hard to imagine something like this happening in today’s internet.
