KSR Today: Beat Idle
The first bye week of the season for the Kentucky football program doesn’t mean college football is going to stop. The Cats get the day off but the sport is still rolling on.
The Calgorithm gets “College GameDay” in Berkeley and a well balanced schedule with some feature games in each window should keep us entertained on the first Saturday in October. It’s time to enjoy this bye week the only way we know how — by watching football.
KSR has you covered from every angle as we all try to beat idle.
- What Kentucky fans should pay attention to this Saturday
- KSR’s Week 6 Preview
- 10 things to do with your free Saturday
- Luckett’s Locks: Welcome to Locktober (KSR+)
Another college football Saturday will take up most of the oxygen but there is more Big Blue Nation activity to be aware of. High school football, Mark Pope sitting down with Jack Pilgrim and Shawn Smith, and a donation drive at Rupp Arena highlight this autumn weekend.
Let’s set the table.

Rupp Arena hosts Red Cross drive for Hurricane Helene victims
In response to the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene, Rupp Arena, proudly will host the American Red Cross as they collect donations at the Leanne Morgan show on October 5, 2024. This initiative aims to provide immediate relief to communities that are grappling with the aftermath of this severe storm.
The Red Cross has deployed over 500 trained disaster workers to the affected areas, where they are actively delivering critical support, including meals, essential supplies, and damage assessments.
Doors open at 6:00 p.m. ET, and we encourage attendees to arrive early to help fill the Red Cross buckets at the entrance. This is a great opportunity for attendees to contribute directly to recovery efforts and make a real difference in the lives of those facing significant challenges.
For those who are not attending the event, donations can be made by texting HELENE to 90999.
