After a day off in paradise, the Kentucky men’s basketball team will return to action this evening for game three of their international tour. After taking down the Dominican Republic and Monterrey Tech, the Wildcats will face off against Carleton University (Canada) on Saturday evening.

The tip is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on the SEC Network with Tom Hart (play-by-play) and Dane Bradshaw (color analyst) once again on the call. KSR will have full coverage of the exhibition game with our world famous live blog reacting live to everything we see.

Before the action arrives, let’s take a look back at some of the off-day coverage as our own Jack Pilgrim and Dr. Michael Huang are getting some work done while also enjoying some fun in the sun.

Mitch Barnhart, Mark Stoops will take the podium

Elsewhere in the Kentucky sports world, fall camp is progressing for the football team as the Wildcats will hold their first fall scrimmage on Saturday. The practice on Saturday will go a long way in determining the depth chart as the opener with Miami (Ohio) quickly approaches. Unfortunately, the developments from the scrimmage must play second fiddle today.

Both Mitch Barnhart and Mark Stoops along with some unnamed players are scheduled to hit the podium at 12:30 p.m. at Kroger Field. There will likely be numerous questions from the media regarding his public spat with John Calipari as the football school vs. basketball school debate continues in the Big Blue Nation.

KSR will be there to get video and provide some instant reaction to what could be a tense press conference. A practice report will also come later, but unfortunately, the stuff on the field feels secondary right now.

We are living in very interesting times in the Big Blue Nation. The coach rivalry has become one of the biggest stories in the sports world.

NFL preseason heats up

We are all anxiously counting down the days until college football arrives, but real live football games are currently happening in the NFL. The first week of preseason started on Thursday, and the league will give us plenty of action on Saturday.

After five games occurred last night, there are six more on the schedule for Saturday as you can have football on in the background as you complete your weekend housework. What a time to be alive.

  • 1:00 — Carolina Panthers at Washington Commanders
  • 1:00 — Kansas City Chiefs at Chicago Bears (NFL Network)
  • 4:00 — Indianapolis Colts at Buffalo Bills (NFL Network)
  • 7:00 — Seattle Seahawks at Pittsburgh Steelers (NFL Network)
  • 7:30 — Miami Dolphins at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
  • 8:00 — New Orleans Saints at Houston Texans
  • 9:00 — Dallas Cowboys at Denver Broncos (NFL Network)
  • 10:00 — Los Angeles Rams at Los Angeles Chargers

I’m sure there will be more than a few of you locked in for fantasy or gambling reasons. Can’t say I blame you. Football is coming.
