We’ve reached the bye week of the Kentucky football season, but that does not mean the Big Blue Nation has to go a full Saturday without a big sporting event. One week after Big Blue Madness, the Blue-White Game has arrived, and this year’s intrasquad scrimmage will have a special meaning.

The event this year is heading east to Pikeville and will take place at the Appalachian Wireless Arena with all proceeds going to those affected by the devastating floods through Team Eastern Kentucky Flood Relief. Tickets are still available to the general public at Appalachian Wireless Arena and Ticketmaster.com.

However, you will need to have your streaming device ready. The game will be broadcast behind a paywall on ESPN+. For all of your FAQs about what to do, KSR has a rundown of all your options to make sure you can get the exhibition game on your screen. Drew Franklin has provided a quick primer for the scrimmage.

The women’s basketball team will get things started Saturday with its annual Fan Day and Blue-White Game starting at 11 a.m. ET inside Memorial Coliseum. Doors will open at 10:30 a.m. ET. KSR’s Grant Grubbs has a full preview of what to expect from Kyra Elzy’s squad.

Over in Pikeville, a Fan Fest will be held outside of Appalachian Wireless Arena beginning at 3 p.m. ET and feature the official UK pregame radio show, a Cat Walk for the team, and food and drink vendors. Tip is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. ET.

Stay locked in with us at KSR as we will have full coverage of both events as we inch closer to the start of college basketball season.

Week 8 has some intriguing matchups

Last Saturday was an all-timer in the college football world with multiple undefeated matchups living up to the hype. We will, unfortunately, take a step back this weekend, but there is still a lot to like about the fourth Saturday in October.

There are some very big conference matchups on the docket for today including a loaded 3:30 p.m. ET window that includes some of the best games of the day. KSR has your viewing guide ready for another jam-packed day plus some against-the-spread (ATS) picks via Pick 3 and Luckett’s Locks for those who want some skin in the game.

Kentucky loses in-state commit Kaden Moorman

Despite normal idle weeks typically being quiet news-wise, we saw a big development become public on Friday morning. Frankfort (Ky.) Franklin County tailback Kaden Moorman has decommitted from Kentucky and re-opened his recruitment.

Moorman has been dealing with nagging injuries that have slowed down his production. The tailback has only 244 rushing yards and five touchdowns through five games played for the 4-4 Flyers. All eyes will now turn to three-star tailback Jamarion Wilcox. The Douglasville (Ga.) South Paulding prospect was on campus in Lexington last weekend and has rushed for 1,348 rushing yards and 17 TDs on 9.9 yards per attempt this season.

Kentucky is also attempting to hold onto Birmingham (Ala.) Parker commit Khalifa Keith. The three-star back has received recent offers from South Carolina and Tennessee. The Cats could lose at least three scholarship tailbacks off of the roster this season and must replenish the room.

To get us all up to speed, KSR recruiting writer Zack Geoghegan has put together an intel report on a busy week in football recruiting. Moving forward, all eyes will be on tailback as national signing day is only two months away. Recruiting never stops.

High School Scoreboard

Another fun night of high school football wrapped up on Friday as we are now just one game away from playoff football in Kentucky. The KSR crew was in Raceland last night to see roll to a 38-14 home victory over Paintsville in the Game of the Week. The Rams created quite the home environment.

There will be more later on KSR from the big win for the 1A state title contender, but first, let’s take a look at the scoreboard from last night.
