KSR Today: Decision Day for Koby Keenum
Today’s a great day to watch the Wildcats’ recruiting class grow. Three-star IOL Koby Keenum will announce his college decision from Mars Hill Bible School (Florence, Al.) today at Noon ET. The talented blocker officially visited three schools in June: North Carolina, Louisville and Kentucky. The Cardinals were once confident, but now UK is the team to beat as the overwhelming favorite in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM).
Louisville fans have been awfully chesty during the summer of Satterfield. They even tried to flex when Keenum was picking dates to officially visit. It would be a real shame if he spurned them to join the Big Blue Wall, a real shame.
More Recruiting Momentum for Kentucky
Koby Keenum might not be the only recruit the Cats are stealing from the Cards. KSR’s Jack Pilgrim told you earlier this week that momentum could be tilting away from Louisville and back to Kentucky in the recruitment of DJ Wagner. It was the first crack in the dam. Friday night the dam burst. Travis Branham changed his Crystal Ball pick from Louisville to undecided, and Jamie Shaw flipped his pick from Louisville to Kentucky. As you can imagine, Louisville fans are handling the news well.
Reed Sheppard: Good at Basketball
Back on the Adidas circuit, Reed Sheppard is getting buckets. Most think of Sheppard stroking it from long range, but the Kentucky commit can get up. Top 10 prospect Baye Fall wisely did not jump with Sheppard near the rim.

Two Must-Reads
On Friday Mrs. Tyler Thompson brought you Kentucky football fan fiction that’s actually real. Not only is Tim Couch jumping on the Will Levis hype train, the current UK QB reminds the former No. 1 pick of himself 25 years ago. If you haven’t read it yet, what are you doing? Elsewhere, the world of NIL has been the most talked about topic all week around the BBN, so I talked to the guy who’s brokering deals for athletes. Fred Johnson from Athlete Advantage paints a much clearer picture of how all of this works and how you can get involved.
NBA Summer League Schedule
If you don’t have any plans, there’s plenty of basketball on ESPN+ as players try to earn their way onto rosters in the NBA Summer League. More than half of the games will feature at least one Kentucky Wildcat.

Barbasol Round Two Continues
Central Kentucky’s PGA Tour got off to a soggy start. Fortunately, the forecast appears to be clearing up, paving the way for a ton of golf to be played today. Darkness forced about half of the golfers off the course before the conclusion of the second round. Adam Svensson is on top of the leaderboard with a three-stroke lead after shooting 5-under on Friday.
