These are surprisingly busy times for fans of UK Athletics as both John Calipari and Mark Stoops are making late-April roster moves, spring sports are heating up, and SEC titles are being won for the first time in a long time. Then in professional sports, former ‘Cats are chasing an NBA championship and NFL roster contracts, giving us plenty of topics to address in this morning’s news rundown.

Shall we get right to it? There is no need in waiting with such a special guest in town.

Hunter Dickinson is in Lexington today.

In the most important news of the day, former Michigan star Hunter Dickinson is in Lexington for an official visit with Kentucky Basketball. Dickinson touched down at Blue Grass Airport yesterday and spent Sunday evening getting familiar with the coaching staff and downtown Lexington. Today, the three-time All-Big Ten selection will spend an entire day learning more about the opportunity with the Wildcats and how life would look if he commits to Kentucky for his fourth season of college basketball. Of course, the future of Oscar Tshiebwe also weighs heavily on Dickinson’s decision.

Also in consideration, Dickinson already took an official visit to Kansas and intends to see Villanova later this week. Georgetown and Maryland are also in the mix.

Dickinson spent two hours with John Calipari in a small Ann Arbor airport last week, where Calipari convinced him to take today’s visit. Dickinson visited once before as a high school recruit.

Kentucky Tennis won the school’s second SEC Tournament championship.

In the most important news since 1992, Kentucky Tennis won the school’s second-ever SEC Tournament championship and the first in 31 years. In Sunday’s thrilling finish at Auburn’s Yarbrough Tennis Center, the fifth-ranked ‘Cats beat the fourth-ranked Georgia ‘Dawgs, 4-3.

The match was tied at three when freshman Jaden Weekes won a third-set tiebreaker for the trophy.

Congratulations to head coach Cedric Kauffmann and Kentucky Tennis.

Kentucky Baseball and Kentucky Softball dodged home sweeps with Sunday wins.

Texas A&M handed Kentucky Baseball two consecutive losses in Kentucky Proud Park’s Saturday doubleheader, but the Wildcats bounced back on Sunday to win the third game of the series, 8-1.

Kentucky scored four runs in the seventh inning, including Jackson Gray’s fourth triple of the season.

Nearby, Kentucky Softball also fought off a sweep on its own turf by beating No. 11 Arkansas, 3-1, a day after dropping two games to the Razorbacks at John Cropp Stadium.

Tomorrow, Kentucky Baseball hosts Louisville before a weekend trip to Vanderbilt to play one of the best teams in the country; while Kentucky Softball rests until EKU comes to town Wednesday before a weekend trip to Starkville.

Fox and Monk head back to Sacramento, all tied with Golden State.

From my spot on the couch, the Sacramento Kings are the best thing on television as the Kings and Golden State Warriors battle it out in the NBA Playoffs with De’Aaron Fox and Malik Monk doing most of the scoring for Sacramento. Yesterday, Game 4 came down to the final shot (Harrison Barnes missed a game-winner) as the Warriors tied the series at two games apiece in Oakland. Fox led all scorers with 38 points in defeat. Monk took the second-most shots for 16 off the bench.

Game 5 is Wednesday night at 10 p.m. on TNT.

Other NBA Playoffs notes:

Julius Randle and Immanuel Quickley are one win away from a second-round berth with the Knicks. New York won Sunday’s Game 4 against Cleveland, 102-93–although, Randle scored only seven points in just 27 minutes played and Quickley went scoreless in 19 minutes off the bench.

— The Celtics went up 3-1 on the Hawks with a 129-121 win in Atlanta.

— In the final game of Sunday’s quadruple-header, Karl-Anthony Towns told Jamal Murray to put his broom away in their first-round matchup as KAT’s Wolves won Game 4 in Minnesota to avoid a first-round sweep at the hands of Murray’s Nuggets.

— Tonight, more former ‘Cats star in the postseason as Bam Adebayo and the Miami Heat host Milwaukee in Game 4 in Miami, looking to go up 3-1 without Tyler Herro available. Tip-off is 7:30 p.m. on TNT. Then in the second game, Anthony Davis and the Lakers host Memphis in the heated series. LeBron vs. Dillon Brooks has been a fun sideshow.

More Kentucky Basketball Updates.

Other quick-hitters to summarize the latest around the offseason Kentucky Basketball circus:

Dillingham certified by NCAA

According to KSR’s Jack Pilgrim, incoming freshman Rob Dillingham has been certified as an academic final qualifier by the NCAA, pending final high school graduation. There has been speculation about Dillingham’s academic standing before he moves to Lexington, but Dillingham appears to be in good shape so long as he completes what is left of his high school coursework.

UK targets shine at Nike EYBL’s first stop

The Nike EYBL circuit began this past weekend in Atlanta with its first session of the summer. Kentucky Basketball’s coaching staff was in attendance to scout some of the top talents in high school basketball, and soon KSR will have a recap of who the staff was eyeing during the EYBL’s kickoff event.

Cooper Flagg seems unfair.

Watch Cincinnati for CJ Fredrick’s next home

On Friday’s KSR radio program, I told you to watch Cincinnati for CJ Fredrick‘s next stop out of the transfer portal. Fredrick and Daimion Collins entered the portal last Friday.

It’s NFL Draft Week.

Aside from the recent portal addition on the offensive line, things are pretty quiet on the football front now that spring practice is in the rearview mirror. But for some former Kentucky Wildcats, it’s a huge week as the NFL Draft begins Thursday with the first round in primetime… obviously, a big night for Will Levis.

There will be lots of Levis content ahead as we send Nick Roush to Kansas City to follow the draft from the front row. For now, it looks like Kentucky’s former QB1 is trending upward, likely to somewhere in the AFC South.

KSR’s morning radio coming up at 10 a.m.

Coming up in the 10 o’clock hour, Matt Jones and Ryan Lemond will have two hours of morning radio about Kentucky and more. Shannon The Dude will keep them on air from the Louisville studio. Come back here for a link if you need help finding the show.

Go Cats.
