Do you hear that sound way off in the distance? It’s inching closer. Touchdown Kentucky, echoed by the legendary Carl Nathe inside of Kroger Field.

The Wildcats will take the field for the opener against Ball State just four weeks from Saturday. Until then, fall camp is here, highlighted by Football Media Day today and Fan Day tomorrow. Mark Stoops is set to take the podium for his annual state of the program address while also answering questions about the current roster and his expectations going into his 11th season in Lexington. Offensive coordinator Liam Coen and defensive coordinator Brad White will also address the media before the outdoor free-for-all with the players and position coaches on the new playing surface at Kroger Field.

We’ll have things rolling on the KSR YouTube Page, pressers out first, followed by individual player content throughout the day and weekend. But you’ll also find the head man himself and his coordinators on KSR with Matt Jones and Drew Franklin from 10 a.m. to noon ET. Stoops, Coen, White and Vince Marrow are all confirmed for the show, along with roaming player interviews throughout the morning.

Get that coffee poured and lock in with us. The KSR website, KSR YouTube Page and KSBoard — those are the places to be.

Kentucky’s Fan Day is Saturday

You’ll get to hear from the Wildcats on Friday, but fans can see them on Saturday for the program’s annual Fan Day. What should fans expect when they head to the Joe Craft Football Training Center tomorrow morning?

For starters, the gates will open to fans at 10 a.m. ET in the plaza outside Gate 12 of Kroger Field. And then an hour later, Kentucky’s open practice will begin at 11 a.m. and run for one hour and 45 minutes until 12:45 p.m.

The annual event is open to the public, with admission and parking both free — the latter in the Blue Lot outside the stadium. Fans will be asked to stand behind the roped-off perimeter surrounding the practice field.

Other notes to keep track of:

  • Free posters will be available
  • Pre-packaged snacks and bottled water will be available for purchase
  • UK merchandise will be sold via the UK Bookstore
  • Donations will be accepted for a “School Supply Drive”

New Kentucky football uniforms are out

The Wildcats will be sporting new uniforms this fall and they’re glorious, if I must say so myself. Unveiled Thursday, the blue tops will feature the alternate logo on the shoulders, replacing the prominent checkerboards — those are lightly included on the neck. The font has also changed on the numbers and letters, with long blue stripes coming down the sides of the pants.

Helmets appear to be the same, but it’s a new look everywhere else. And it’s hard not to love ’em.

Going to be scoring a lot of touchdowns in those.

Nutter Field’s glow-up is complete, too

It’s not just the football uniforms getting a new look — the indoor practice field’s upgrades are complete, as well.

Nutter Field House no longer features the dangerous rounded corners with a track in the end zone, dated turf and amenities. Instead, the playing surface is clean and fresh with 45-degree corners — what an idea!

Kentucky also added banners from the program’s recent bowl wins on the wall, among other cool features.

The best touch? Yeah, nothing comes close to the permanent John Schlarman mural on the wall, honoring his playing and coaching days here in Lexington.

“You come together, nobody can stop you.”

Yahtzee day? Yahtzee day.

How about rolling some dice to close out the day, keeping this momentum rolling for the future? Maybe in the form of a blue-chip quarterback target?

Stone Saunders, a top-25 quarterback and top-350 prospect overall out of Harrisburg (PA) Bishop McDevitt, is set to announce his commitment at 6:25 p.m. ET. The 2025 recruit’s announcement will air live on ABC27 News (WHTM-TV), choosing between Kentucky, Georgia, Michigan, Nebraska, and Miami (FL).

Just hours before the commitment, Kentucky is considered the heavy frontrunner to land Saunders. Three Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM) picks have been logged in favor of the standout quarterback choosing the Wildcats, a 94.4 percent chance overall.

He is considered a high-three-star prospect, checking in at No. 336 overall in the class of 2025 according to the On3 Industry Ranking. Rivals and ESPN both list the 6-foot-1 quarterback out of Pennsylvania as a four-star.

Let’s have a day, BBN. Football season is here.
