Turkey Day has arrived. Happy Thanksgiving, Big Blue Nation! Today is a day to share gratitude, and that is no exception for the people behind the blog at KSR.

We are so grateful for the Kentucky fans that have joined this community over the last 15+ years. It’s been a wild ride that’s seen ups, downs, and many changes, but at the heart of it, this has always been about you, the fans. We could not be here without your support, and we thank you dearly.

Being at the heart of this KSR community for more than a decade has led to life experiences that have made this journey more rewarding. It’s not just about watching big games at revered college football venues, it’s the people you meet along the way.

Donnie Ray, a Louisville native and proud Male Bulldog, has seen a thing or two in his time cheering for the Wildcats. He once took a punch from George Jones and cruised around Iroquois Park with Elvis Presley. His ramblin’ days had only slightly slowed down when I met him and his crew of Kentucky road warriors. They never missed a game, home or away, and celebrated his birthday every other year with a Frosty at the Wendy’s just outside of Vanderbilt’s football stadium. Last week I was sad to miss his 87th birthday celebration, a display of camaraderie among friends with a common bond: Kentucky football.

Sports bring people together. It’s why we love them. We’re thankful that you’re here for the good, the bad and everything in-between.

Kentucky Football Fellowship

Thanksgiving looks a little different when you’re a college athlete. John Calipari and the Kentucky basketball team will spend time together volunteering with the Salvation Army. Last night, Kentucky football coaches hosted players for a meal an a little fellowship ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday.

Kentucky Volleyball gets ANOTHER SEC Championship

For the seventh straight volleyball season, your University of Kentucky Wildcats are SEC Champs. Kentucky went on the road and swept No. 9 Arkansas (25-19, 25-14, 26-24) to win its 15th straight match. It’s only the third time the Razorbacks have been swept all season. KSR broke down all of the action right after the Cats clinched another title.

Azhani Tealer has now won five SEC Championships in Lexington. She’ll celebrate Senior Day this Saturday alongside Riah Walker, Reagan Rutherford and Elise Goetzinger. The Cats will host No. 20 Florida at Rupp Arena. First set is at 1 pm EST.

Need Entertainment? KSR Podcasts have you covered

Most folks spend the day before or after Thanksgiving on the road. If you need a road trip companion, there are plenty of KSR podcasts to accompany on your trip. Sources Say broke down Kentucky’s overtime win over St. Joe’s. You can get ready for the college football weekend with the Pigskin Preview, or look ahead to the Governor’s Cup with the KSR Football Podcast and 11 Personnel.

NFL Thanksgiving Schedule

Thanksgiving is the top holiday for many Americans because it’s accompanied by a healthy side of football. Today we get three NFL games starting just after lunch.

12:30: Packers (+8) at Lions on Fox
4:30: Commanders (+13) at Cowboys on CBS
8:20: 49ers (-7) at Seahawks on NBC

It’s not all NFL action. There’s SEC football action happening tonight in Starkville. The early termination of Zach Arnett has taken some bite out of the Egg Bowl, but if there’s one rivalry game that finds a way to produce unexpected madness, it’s the Egg Bowl. Ole Miss is a 10-point favorite over Mississippi State in the 7:30 pm EST kickoff on ESPN.
