Good morning, readers of KentuckySportsRadio.com. I’m in for Zack Geoghegan as the author of KSR’s Wednesday morning wakeup. Zack is on a much-deserved vacation this week; that guy is a workaholic.

Today, I have a preview of what’s to come and more to know if you like the Kentucky Wildcats. Then, I need to hurry over to KSBar and Grille, where I am again hosting KSR’s morning radio show from 10 a.m. to noon before the 4th of July break. KentuckySportsRadio.com will be well-represented on the air because Mrs. Tyler Thompson and Adam Luckett are my co-hosts. Go ahead and send us a text at 502-735-3680 if you have any questions, comments, or requests before we begin.

Now, that preview of what’s to come and more to know.

Wesley Woodyard will be a special guest on the show

Today’s KSR show will get into the latest about Kentucky Football with Adam Luckett. However, a true football expert will join us in the first hour when Wesley Woodyard, a former captain of the Wildcats, calls in at 10:30 a.m. We’re excited to hear from Woodyard, who is now retired from a long NFL career. I hope he brings his best Rich Brooks story.

Aaron Harrison was our guest on Tuesday

Aaron Harrison was our special guest on Tuesday’s show shortly after he was announced as the newest member of La Familia. Harrison previewed what’s to come when he teams up with other former Wildcats for The Basketball Tournament. Plus, we had him rank his iconic shots in the NCAA Tournament.

Listen to the conversation with Aaron Harrison halfway through the first hour of Tuesday’s podcast.

Javeon Campbell is a Wildcat

The No. 1 football recruit in Kentucky, Western Hill’s Javeon Campbell, committed to Kentucky on Tuesday, choosing to stay home in the Bluegrass over offers from Alabama, Auburn, Miami, and many others. Campbell is the 15th commitment in Kentucky’s 2025 recruiting class and the second-highest-rated of the group.

More decisions to watch this week

Tomorrow, Jermiel Atkins, a three-star offensive tackle from Ohio, will announce his college decision. Kentucky is in a great place for the product of Trotwood-Madison in Trotwood, Ohio, versus Minnesota and Virginia Tech, among others.

Luckett broke down all of the uncommitted targets for KSR+.

Kentucky Baseball’s roster moves

Kentucky Baseball lost a key piece from the run to Omaha. On Tuesday, news broke that Nolan McCarthy is off to the transfer portal, choosing to pursue other opportunities for his final season of eligibility. McCarthy’s loss is significant. The playmaking centerfielder, who is best remembered for the winning run in the Super Regionals, was due to be one of the senior leaders in 2025. Now, he’s off to the portal instead.

Later on Tuesday, Kentucky added a commitment from Ryan Schwartz, one of the top catcher prospects in the 2024 recruiting class. Schwartz decommitted from Texas before picking UK.

College Football 25 gave us another teaser

Yesterday, EA Sports released a deep dive into its upcoming video game, College Football 25. In it, we saw Barion Brown in Kroger Field, plus Kentucky’s team ranking in the game.

It’s less than two weeks away!

Worst Headline of the Day: Clarion Ledger on Archie Manning

The Clarion Ledger celebrated Archie Manning’s 75th birthday by titling his birthday article like he died. I had to read the tweet three times to be sure Archie is still alive, which he is.

Happy birthday, Archie.
