KSR Today: Kentucky drops thriller to Texas A&M
No one can call this Kentucky basketball team boring. During a frigid weekend in the Bluegrass, the Wildcats and the Texas A&M burned up some nets in the Lonestar State on Saturday afternoon at Reed Arena.
Unfortunately, the Big Blue came up on the short end of the stick.
Behind 59 combined points on 46 field goals from guards Tyrece Radford and Wade Taylor, Texas A&M scored a season-high 97 points in an overtime victory in College Station. A poor three-point shooting team poured 12 makes from downtown and grabbed 25 offensive rebounds. That combination created a long afternoon for Kentucky’s defense.
Despite scoring 89 points in regulation and getting 15 three-point field goals, Kentucky was unable to lock up the victory. There was some big-time shotmaking from Rob Dillingham down the stretch, but the offense disappeared in overtime and a desperate Texas A&M team got its first conference win of the season.
KSR is starting off Sunday by taking a closer look back at what happened in the loss that dropped the Wildcats to 12-3 (2-1).

Blowouts for Super Wild Card Weekend
Over on the gridiron, the first two NFL playoff games of the weekend were over early. The two home teams did not mess around as the Houston Texas used two defensive touchdowns to run away from the Cleveland Browns and the Kansas City Chiefs overwhelmed a Miami Dolphins offense that appeared to want no part of the freezing temperatures at Arrowhead Stadium.
Za’Darius Smith saw his season come to an end, but Mike Edwards could be beginning another long playoff run. The former Kentucky safety picked off Tua Tagovailoa last night in a game that was dominated by Kansas City’s defense.

Rick Pitino is a miserable human being today
Did you maybe have one too many adult pops on Saturday night? Are you feeling hungover, dehydrated, and absolutely miserable today? No matter how bad that hangover is there is no way you’re feeling any worse than Rick Pitino.
After St. John’s blew a lead in the final minute to drop a road game to Creighton, the former Kentucky head coach gave us an all-time quote after the game. This is definitely something that probably shouldn’t be played over the loud speaker if you have kids at home.
To make an outstanding press conference even better, the first-year head coach also says that he never yells at officials. He even called it cheating. Someone introduce this man to Connor Stalions. Never change, Rick.

Class of 2024 Kentucky signee Jacob Kauwe will join the specialists in Lexington this fall. The Montana native is likely going to enjoy the summers in the Bluegrass.
Thing are different in his neck of the woods.
Remember that it’s always colder somewhere else when looking for those extra blankets over the next few days.
