KSR Today: Georgia Prep Continues, Men's Soccer vs. Indiana
Good morning, friends. After a week at the beach, logging on to my computer on Monday felt like being thrown into the fire, but at least it’s the fun kind of busy. The high from Kentucky’s win over Florida still lingers over Big Blue Nation as we look ahead to Saturday’s monster showdown with No. 1 Georgia. The Cats might be a three-score underdog, but after seeing them dominate the Gators (and the Bulldogs struggle vs. Auburn), you can at least convince yourself they’ve got a puncher’s chance in Athens, which is more than I would have said prior to the season.
As mentioned, it was a very busy Monday. Let’s run through some quick hitters before tackling today’s agenda.
Catch up on a busy football Monday
No injury updates on Kenneth Horsey, Barion Brown, or Tayvion Robinson
Mark Stoops has been tight-lipped about injuries all season, and that did not change yesterday. Kenneth Horsey was not listed on the new depth chart, but the two-time team captain hinted on social media that his return is imminent. Stoops also did not have an update on Barion Brown or Tayvion Robinson, who left the Florida game with what appeared to be minor injuries. On the KSR postgame show, Stoops did say that both could have returned to the game, so hopefully, they’ll be able to suit up vs. Georgia.
Kentucky vs. Missouri will be a night game
Game times for October 14 were released on Monday, but we’ll have to wait a little longer to find out exactly when Kentucky vs. Missouri will kick off. The game is slated for either 7:00 PM on ESPN or 7:30 PM on SEC Network, putting the Keeneland/Kentucky Football daily double in play. The kick-off time and TV channel will be decided after this weekend’s games. Auburn at LSU is the other option for the night slot.
Big Blue Madness on Friday, Keeneland and the Missouri game on Saturday. Next weekend’s a big one in the Bluegrass.
Ray Davis, Jeremy Flax, and Mark Stoops earn weekly honors
It was a busy day for Kentucky’s media relations staff as well, as Mark Stoops, Ray Davis, and Jeremy Flax all received recognition for the Florida win. Stoops was named Dodd Trophy Coach of the Week, Davis SEC Co-Offensive Player of the Week, and Flax SEC Offensive Lineman of the Week.
Kroger KSR Game of the Week headed to McLean County for Thursday night football
This week, Freddie Maggard and Kroger are shining the Game of the Week spotlight on McLean County for the first time as the Cougars host the Webster County Trojans. This is a rare Thursday night edition of the Kroger KSR Game of the Week, so stay tuned as we preview the matchup in the days ahead.
KSR Football Video Content
It was a busy day for KSR’s football crew. Nick Roush, Adam Luckett, and Drew Frankin attended Stoops’ Monday Press Conference, rapidly reacted to it, and a few hours later, really dug into the Florida win and matchup vs. Florida on the KSR Football Podcast.
Tuesdays with Liam
This evening, we’ll hear from Liam Coen and members of Kentucky’s offense after practice. Check the site and YouTube Channel around dinner to hear how the Cats are preparing to face the defending national champions. Scoring points has always been a challenge for Kentucky vs. Kirby Smart’s Bulldogs.
On Monday, Coen drew kudos from Kirk Herbstreit, who included Kentucky’s playcaller among his top-performing coaches of Week 5. In fact, it was a clean sweep for the Cats with Herbstreit, who also named Kentucky one of his top-performing teams, and Ray Davis one of his top-performing players.
Men’s Soccer vs. Indiana
Over at The Bell, the men’s soccer team looks to get back on track vs. a longtime rival. The Cats (3-6-0, 0-3-0 Sun Belt) host the Indiana Hoosiers (3-3-3, 0-1-2 B1G) at 7 p.m. Kentucky is coming off four straight losses, the most recent being to No. 3 Central Florida at home. Indiana holds a 26-3-0 edge over Kentucky in the rivalry, which dates back to September 1973, but the Cats got the best of the Hoosiers last season with a 3-0 win in Bloomington, their first in the series since 2018.

Kentucky is calling for a White Out at The Bell tonight. Rally towels and soccer scarves will also be handed out upon entry while supplies last. If you can’t make it in person, the match will be streamed on ESPN+.
It’s Brian Robinson Eve
Four-star EDGE Brian Robinson announces his decision tomorrow, fresh off another visit to Kentucky. Michigan State, Penn State, Maryland, and Tennessee are also finalists for the 6’5″ 250 lbs. pass rusher, but Kentucky has been trending as the frontrunner for a while. Yesterday, our On3 colleague Chad Simmons said that barring a late surprise, Robinson will be a Cat.
Vince Marrow has played a big role here. He is from the same town as Robinson and their connection is strong. The consistency he and the staff had was a big factor in getting Kentucky to this position. Early on, Michigan was viewed as the favorite. Over the last three to four months, that shifted to Kentucky, and unless a late surprise, Mark Stoops and the Wildcats should get big news this week.

John Calipari on the recruiting trail
On the basketball front, it was a busy Monday as John Calipari crisscrossed the country to check in on some top prospects. On Monday, he saw Boogie Fland, his third in-person visit with the five-star point guard in the past month, fourth if you count Fland’s official visit in early September. After that, he headed north to see 2025 four-star power forward Alier Maluk and 2024 five-star shooting guard VJ Edgecombe.
These visits come after four-star center Patrick Ngongba’s official visit to Kentucky over the weekend.
That’s a lot of recruiting to keep up with. Thankfully, Jack Pilgrim and Shawn Smith will break it all down for you and share the latest on Big Z in a new episode of Sources Say tonight at 8 p.m. ET on the KSR YouTube Channel.

Wan’Dale Robinson in Monday Night Football
It was a tough night for the New York Giants, who lost to the Seattle Seahawks 24-3 in Monday Night Football, but Wan’Dale Robinson had some nice moments. The Frankfort native and former Cat totaled five catches for 40 yards and one carry for seven yards. Here’s one of those receptions, which was good for a first down.
Go Wan’Dale. Go Cats. And you go have a good day.
