KSR Today is sponsored by Eckrich.
Eckrich is proud to present the $1 Million Challenge for Teachers! This 2021 college football season Eckrich, in partnership with Extra Yard for Teachers and Kroger, will invite a local teacher (and true hero) onto the field at the Tennessee vs Kentucky game on November 6th.
These lucky teachers, randomly selected from a list of entries, will have a chance to throw a football through a target to win up to $1 million dollars in donations to fund local classroom projects. Nominate a teacher here for a chance to throw! Make sure to nominate your teacher by October 27th.
Good morning, all. Congratulations on making it halfway through the week. If you’re like me, you’re just happy to be one step closer to Saturday’s game vs. No. 1 Georgia. After Monday’s onslaught of football and basketball news, things slowed down to a crawl on Tuesday. News or not, we’re picking things back up today, starting with the rundown.
Have you read Ivan Maisel’s feature on Mark Stoops yet?
Kentucky Football’s rise got the Ivan Maisel treatment this week. On3’s senior writer gifted us a feature on Mark Stoops, which includes quotes from Mark and his brother Bob. If you haven’t yet, click that link to enjoy.
Stoops on the SEC Teleconference
It feels like only yesterday Stoops was still fielding questions about his brother Bob on the SEC Teleconference. Not anymore. This afternoon around lunch, our Stoops will hop on the SEC Teleconference to talk about Saturday’s showdown with No. 1 Georgia. I’ll be tuning in to bring you a full recap this afternoon.
Offense previews Georgia
How is Kentucky’s offense preparing to face what is being called a generational defense at Georgia? Liam Coen, Vince Marrow, Will Levis, Chris Rodriguez, and Wan’Dale Robinson talked about just that with reporters after practice. You can read Nick Roush’s quick rundown here, or dive into the videos below. We’ll have more of the offense’s comments as the morning goes on.
We’ll hear from Brad White and the defense tonight.
Kentucky Basketball takes the mound
The Lexington Legends are in the playoffs, and last night, hosted Kentucky Basketball’s Orlando Antigua, Chin Coleman, and Dontaie Allen. We’ve got a video of Antigua’s first pitch. The camera work is a little shaky, but that appears to be a strike:

Big Blue Madness ticket giveaways continue
Big Blue Madness is Friday, and to drum up excitement, the program has been popping up in communities across the state to give away tickets. On Monday, Dontaie Allen went to his hometown of Falmouth to give away tickets. Yesterday, Lance Ware, Jacob Toppin, Sahvir Wheeler, Bryce Hopkins, and Kareem Watkins walked around campus handing out tickets to students and staff.

College Gameday, SEC Nation, Cat Walk locations in Athens
Going to Athens this weekend? First, make sure you stop by Trappeze Pub for a pint and some grub. It’s easily one of my favorite spots in the SEC. Secondly, if you’re looking to attend College Gameday, SEC Nation, and/or the Cat Walk, here are the locations:
College Gameday – 9 a.m. to Noon, Myers Quad

SEC Nation – 10 a.m. to Noon, Special Collections Library Lawn. The Paul Finebaum Show (Friday from 3-7 p.m.) and Marty & McGee (Saturday 9-10 a.m.) will also broadcast live from this location.
CAT WALK – 1:15 p.m., East Campus Road (Near Gate Five of Sanford Stadium)

William Shatner’s going to space
Captain Kirk is one of four passengers on Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin, which launches at 10 a.m. ET. The 90-year-old Star Trek star, who owns a horse farm in Versailles, will become the oldest person to go to space. Not too shabby for a Wednesday.
