Kentucky’s November at Rupp Arena rolls along Tuesday night when the Cats host Mount St. Mary’s in the Kentucky Classic. All of the action in downtown Lexington tips off at 7 pm ET on the SEC Network. Get ready for the game by listening to the KSR Pregame Show at 4:30 pm ET on 630 WLAP.

This will be the second Top 25 team Mount St. Mary’s has faced this season. They opened the year with a 91-51 loss to Villanova. St. Joseph’s handed the Mountaineers a 20-point loss on Saturday. The visitors to Rupp Arena ranked 300th out of 358 teams, according to KenPom, who predicts an 80-54 final score.

Can Oscar Keep Cleaning the Glass?

Oscar Tshiebwe could not have started his first season at Kentucky much better. The transfer from West Virginia has 40 rebounds in his first two games as a Wildcat, setting a Rupp Arena record against Robert Morris. You may think he’s a rebounding machine, but that’s not entirely the case.

Vegas, TV, Radio

Las Vegas loves to take their sweet time to release college basketball lines. We received less than 24 hours to pick a side. I guess the bookmakers just hate money. They opened the line over night at Kentucky -24.5, with a total of 134.

Tom Hart will entertain the BBN Tuesday night with Jon Sundvold by his side on the SEC Network broadcast. If you’d rather listen to the Voice of the Wildcats, there are multiple ways to hear today’s game.

Get Ready with Wheeler, Grady

Ahead of tonight’s tip-off at Rupp Arena, Kellan Grady and Sahvir Wheeler spent time discussing the game, how the team is improving and much more.

UK Football Prepares for Senior Day

Fresh off a seventh win that wrapped up SEC play with a 5-3 record and second-place finish in the East, the Wildcats set their sights on Senior Day vs. New Mexico State. This year’s Senior Day will be complicated by the extra year of eligibility from COVID-19. Three Super Seniors will not walk, and some of the 22 participating in pregame ceremonies may return for another year.

Mark Stoops implored folks not to read too much into it, but it’s worth mentioning that Jacquez Jones, the Wildcats’ leading tackler, was omitted from the list of Senior Day participants. A fifth year of college football for Jones would be a significant win for Brad White and Jon Sumrall’s defense.

Unfortunately, we did not get to hear dynamite questions like the ones fired off to Sark in the middle of the first Texas five-game losing streak since 1956.

A Must-Listen KSR Football Podcast

Sometimes you record a podcast and feel like you left something off the tape. Other times you get so far into the zone that you forget you’re wearing headphones. The latter happened yesterday when Freddie, Drew and I got back to our roots with some high quality hi-jinx. We gave Maggard a lesson on modern music, he picked out ideal mascots and we had fun with Vito Tisdale’s late shove. Do yourself a favor, subscribe, download and listen today.

Josh Allen: Still Very Good

Josh Allen had a pair of tackles, including one for loss, in the Jaguars’ one-score loss to the Indianapolis Colts. That does not truly reflect the impact he had on the game. Let Pro Football Focus explain.

Josh Allen is playing the best football in his career. Another former UK edge has not had so much luck. Entering the season off an ACL injury, Bud Dupree was forced to the sideline during the Sunday victory over the Saints with an abdominal injury. Prior to kickoff, he spent about an hour hanging out with Mark Stoops before the Cats defeated Vanderbilt. Stoops shared that on his call-in show, and revealed that Jager Burton is in line to receive significant snaps this week against New Mexico State.

Let There Be Chaos

Monday night Adam Luckett laid out the best case scenario for the BBN. To earn an Outback Bowl berth, the Cats need to cheer for Ole Miss. If you prefer chaos, there’s one scenario that creates a 6-way tie in the SEC West. Although unlikely, opening pandora’s box is awfully intriguing.

Justin Fuente Fired

Virginia Tech is parting ways with Frank Beamer’s successor after six seasons. The Hokies climbed to No. `15 this fall before losing five of the next seven. Fuente had a 43-31 record in Blacksburg, with one loss at the hands of the Wildcats in the 2019 Belk Bowl. The marriage has never been the same since he publicly flirted with Baylor a few coaching carousels ago, a not so different situation that Scott Satterfield is in at Louisville.

Anthony Davis Ejected

SEC football officials and college basketball refs get most of the bad press from viewers. They aren’t the only incompetent officials. Last night Anthony Davis got ejected for… tying his shoe? Yes, tying his shoe. This official knows fans clearly paid to not watch an NBA superstar, but an official with an active whistle.
