Brad White Talks Loss To South Carolina

While I don’t want to start the day by continuing to discuss the bad, I’m left wondering where we would be if things went differently for Kentucky against South Carolina.

Big Blue Nation would be buzzing, impatiently counting down the days until ESPN’s traveling road show arrived. After spending all summer saying, “I’m not going to talk myself into a win over Georgia,” many fans would be talking themselves into a Kentucky win over No. 1 Georgia.

Instead, we’re in such a dire, ugly place. The answer to the question, “What’s next?” was supposed to be answered with “College Gameday.” Now, we have no idea what’s next in this unpredictable season that is now taking us to a matchup against an opponent who excels at murderball that may come to town just in time for hurricane remnant to reach Kroger Field.

This was supposed to be a very fun week and it has not been at all. However, it’s only week three. Kentucky is going to keep plugging and chugging away with a lot of football left on the schedule. They’ve turned the page. It’s hard for fans but now feels like the right time to move forward. There’s a lot football still to be played. Hopefully, the best is yet to come (or we’re in trouble).

Kentucky Offensive Adjustments

The Kentucky offense was shell-shocked by the South Carolina pass rush. It was abundantly clear on Saturday that expectations did not meet reality for this group. Now it’s time to adjust. Bush Hamdan is focused on building Brock Vandagriff‘s confidence without completely starting from scratch.

“These aren’t drastic turns here. Nothing that we’re looking at is — we gotta do something out of what we’ve been training to do. We’ve just gotta focus, execute, and do a better job around (the quarterback),” said Hamdan.

You can hear more from Hamdan or watch what Eric Wolford and a couple of players had to say following Tuesday’s practice.

Kentucky Football Talk on Today’s Slate

If you’re ready to continue turning the page to the Georgia game, we got plenty of more Kentucky football talk incoming. Kirby Smart and Mark Stoops will speak on the SEC coaches’ teleconference this afternoon. Following practice this evening, it’s Brad White and the Kentucky defense’s turn at the podium to speak to the local media. We’re capping it all off with a new edition of 11 Personnel at 8 pm EST on the KSR YouTube Channel.

Q&A with Kentucky Commit Malachi Moreno

There has been a ton of Kentucky football talk and sometimes it can be depressing. Jack Pilgrim provided Big Blue Nation with a nice change of pace on Tuesday night’s Sources Say. Future Kentucky Wildcat Malachi Moreno joined the show to talk some ball. It’s a great way to learn more about the next homegrown Wildcat to wear Kentucky blue and white.

Wingsday and Trivia

Hump Day is better known as Wingsday at KSBar and Grille. We’re celebrating the occasion with $1 wings and a bit of trivia. The questions will be asked to the crowd from 7-9 pm. Break up the midweek monotony with a little fun at KSBar and Grille.

Mark Pope + Kentucky Race Horses

While yearlings were being auctioned off at the Keeneland September Sale, one of which went for $5 million, Mark Pope was making the rounds and rubbing elbows with some of the biggest names in the industry, like the sport’s “Coach,” D. Wayne Lukas. That wasn’t the most eye-opening photo taken of the Kentucky head coach. That would be the selfie he snagged with Terry Bradshaw.

There was a Presidential Debate Last Night

It’s probably what many folks will be talking about today. I cannot tell you who won or lost after only listening in the car for a few minutes, but I do have an important question about the debates: what do they do during commercial breaks? I’d like to think they are treated just like heavyweight fighters. Each candidate goes to their corner, a trainer towels them down, rubs an Enswell over their swollen egos, then tells them to use the jab to try to outlast their opponent. “Head-body, head-body!”

This is an Objectively Cool Highlight

We aren’t big Anthony Richardson fans around here, but real gotta recognize real. This throw was impressive. Almost as good as the one he threw to Jordan Wright.

A Somber Anniversary

It’s been 23 years since our world got turned upside down. Nearly 3,000 people died in the horrific terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001. The world feels much different now than it did then, but memories from that day cannot fade away. The phrase “Never Forget” was used quite a bit in the aftermath. Uphold that mantra with a moment of reflection for those who are no longer with us.
