KSR Today: Kentucky takes the stage at SEC Media Days
Hello, friends. Good morning from soggy Nashville, Tennessee. KSHouse is up and at ’em, ready to burn and turn when Kentucky takes the stage at SEC Media Days.
Okay, that’s only partially true. I admittedly forgot that today was Wednesday, my day to write this morning post, until after the KSR crew successfully outlasted the rest of the morning radio hosts at a local honky tonk. When you work hard, you also play hard. There’s never been a great team that didn’t break curfew once or twice and we’re no exceptions to that rule. I’ll spare all the juicy details for now, but if you want to hear more, we’re updating the SECMD thread at KSBoard at all hours of the night. Join the fun and prepare for another day of shenanigans from KSR in the Music City. Here’s what’s on the slate for today.
SEC Media Days Schedule
For the BBN, today is Kentucky day. For the rest of the SEC world, it’s Alabama Day. Nick Saban is up first and the Bamers can hardly wait.
10:05 — Nick Saban, Alabama
11:30 — Sam Pittman, Arkansas
2:00 — Billy Napier, Florida
3:25 — Mark Stoops, Kentucky
How to find Kentucky at SEC Media Days
Mark Stoops is joining the fun before he hops in an airplane with Octavious Oxendine, JJ Weaver and Eli Cox to Nashville. He’s joining McElroy and Cubelic in the Morning at 8:40 pm CT.

The Kentucky head coach is the last speaker at the SEC Media Days podium, but the local media will get a chance to speak to all four individuals ahead of time. Expect updates to arise shortly after lunchtime. You’ll also see Mark Stoops on the SEC Network set at some point this afternoon and get a LIVE edition of the KSR Football Podcast at approximately 6 pm EST on the KSR YouTube Channel.
KSR’s Coverage of SEC Media Days
You ever had one of those days where no matter what you do, nothing is going your way? It’s almost as though the universe is actively trying to hold you back, testing your resolve. That was Drew Franklin on during his first ever SEC Media Days. Despite the small setbacks here and there, he shared his experience in his first Diary from the event. 11 Personnel went live to share what we’ve learned through two days with the SEC’s best and brightest, and that’s not all.

Ugonna Onyenso has Surgery for Broken Foot
It did not take long for John Calipari to share that Ugonna Onyenso‘s injury in Canada was worse than originally expected. How bad was it? So bad that he needed to go under the knife. Shortly after Kyle Tucker reported the Kentucky center went under the knife, Calipari released a statement that he expects Onyenso to miss a couple months while rehabilitating the injury.
Apologies for applying brevity to todays’ morning post. It’s a minor setback for a major comeback. Prepare to see tons of updates throughout the day right here at Kentucky Sports Radio. Now it’s time to find something to eat. God bless.
