Good morning, Big Blue Nation. How about that weekend? UK Athletics rode the momentum from last week’s Champions Classic victory into the first NCAA Tournament win in a decade for UK Women’s Soccer on Friday night. Then, on Saturday, Kentucky Football beat Murray State 48-6 at Kroger Field, followed by UK Women’s Basketball beating Louisville for the first time in nine years at Historic Memorial Coliseum. On Sunday, Kentucky Volleyball saw a school record broken in its win over Georgia, wrapping up an exciting and winning weekend in Lexington. Last night was a bad time to be that leftover pint of Graeter’s in Mitch Barnhart’s freezer. He and everyone around UK Athletics earned a celebration.

Here at KSR HQ, we are celebrating with another early Monday morning. Now that I have some coffee in me, what do you say that you and I run over some things to know about what is ahead? There is another game at Memorial, you know. We’ll start there.

Kentucky Women’s Basketball didn’t have time to celebrate its signature win over Louisville on Saturday. Kenny Brooks’ Wildcats return to action tonight on short rest, hosting Purdue Fort Wayne in Lexington. In the fifth game of Brooks’ first season, Kentucky will meet a PFW team that played Purdue to within 10 points in the season opener. The Mastodons beat Defiance 104-31 last time out.

Mondays are for Mark Stoops, and today, Stoops is expected at his usual press conference on campus, where he will reflect on the win over Murray State and preview the trip ahead to Texas. There are quarterback questions, injury/availability questions, and several other matters to address as Kentucky‘s season winds down to its final two-week stretch. Come back to KentuckySportsRadio.com around lunchtime to watch or read about the conversation with Stoops.

For more Mark Stoops, tune in to his call-in show tonight from 6-7 p.m. on the UK Sports Network. Stoops is expected on the coaches’ show tonight after he took last Monday off and handed the responsibility over to Vince Marrow.

After Stoops’ Monday press conference, the KSR Football Podcast will broadcast a new episode from KSBar and Grille. No. 13 UK Volleyball won another SEC match on Sunday, beating Georgia in four sets (25-27, 25-22, 25-21, 25-21) at Historic Memorial Coliseum. Sophomore outside hitter Brooklyn DeLeye shined in the victory with a school-record 30 kills on 69 swings, the most-ever by a Wildcat in a four-match set.

With the win, Kentucky has a full-game lead in the SEC with only three matches on the remaining schedule. Craig Skinner’s Wildcats host Mississippi State on Wednesday.
