KSR Today: Kentucky Wildcats bring Ben Simmons back to life
This postseason Ben Simmons became the butt of every joke in the NBA. By refusing to shoot in the fourth quarter playoff game against the Atlanta Hawks, the NBA All-Star invited every form of criticism. Now that the dust has settled and he is still a Philadelphia 76, Simmons is trying to shake off the shooting yips with a couple of former Wildcats.
Monday afternoon Simmons was spotted working out Rajon Rondo. That’s right. To correct his alining shooting form, Simmons sought out help from Rajon Rondo. The jokes write themselves.

Others may joke, but here at Kentucky Sports Radio, we will stand by our man. Rajon Rondo is a great ambassador to the Commonwealth of Kentucky and the city of Louisville. He also has improved his three-point shot throughout his career, netting more than 40% of his attempts last season.
Rondo wasn’t the only Wildcat in the lab. B.J. Boston got in work with the NBA vets ahead of his NBA Summer League debut. After inking a two-year guaranteed contract, Boston scored 10 points in the Clippers’ loss to Jordan Nwora and the Bucks.
Ben Simmons’ shooting with Rajon Rondo wasn’t the only thing on full display in workouts.

Now that the Olympics are over, the Summer League is your best way to limp through the final offseason hurdle before college football’s arrival. Three Wildcats are in action tonight.

Practice Reports Return
This afternoon Mark Stoops will bring back the Wildcats for practice No. 4 of the preseason. Instead of meeting with players and coaches on Zoom after its conclusion, KSR will be back on the practice fields to talk to Liam Coen and the rest of the offense. Tune in around supper time for the latest updates from preseason practice.
Jamin Davis is LB1
The Washington Football Team has released a depth chart ahead of its first preseason football game. Former Kentucky linebacker Jamin Davis is listed as the starting MLB. The former first round pick is fitting the bill so far in the DMV.
Hard Knocks Debuts
We’re inching one step closer to the return of football. An annual preseason rite of passage kicks off tonight when the Dallas Cowboys star in HBO’s Hard Knocks. Love ’em or hate ’em, the Cowboys do know how to put on an entertaining product. Hopefully that is the case once again with former Wildcats Kelvin Joseph and Quinton Bohanna fighting to climb the Dallas depth chart. You can watch all the action beginning at 10 pm ET on HBO and HBO Max.
New Look in Nashville
“Can new uniforms make a bad team, good?” That question will be answered by the Vanderbilt Commodores in 2021. The biggest surprise — these jerseys actually have numbers.
