Good morning, Kentucky Sports Radio readers. Today, we move one day further from Saturday’s disappointment in Athens as Kentucky Football clocks back in for work to begin Week 7 of the season, now with a lopsided loss to Georgia on their resume. On campus, the Wildcats begin preparations for the next opponent on the schedule, the one-loss Missouri Tigers, in a bounce-back opportunity at Kroger Field. That game drew the 7:30 p.m. time slot on SEC Network once both teams suffered losses over the weekend.

Let’s start getting you ready for it now on this chilly Monday morning. We have Kentucky Basketball this week, too.

Stoops Explains

NOON PRESS CONFERENCE

Today, Mark Stoops will close the book on the loss at Georgia with two Monday conversations about that game and more. First, Stoops will hold his usual Monday afternoon press conference at Kroger Field for a 30-minute chat about the loss and regrouping to host a good Missouri team in Lexington. Stoops is expected to speak at noon, and KSR will share all of his comments with you here when he is done.

A new depth chart will accompany Stoops to the media room.

CALL-IN SHOW

Then, later tonight, Stoops and Tom Leach will do their Monday night thing with a new episode of Stoops’ weekly call-in radio show. Stoops and Leach will be live on the UK Sports Network airwaves from 6-7 p.m. ET on WLAP 630 in Lexington or the state’s UK Sports Network affiliates.

New KSR Football Podcast

Once Stoops shares the latest about his program, the KSR Football Podcast will go live at 8 p.m. with a new post-Georgia, pre-Missouri episode. Nick Roush, Drew Franklin, Adam Luckett, and Freddie Maggard will recap Kentucky’s embarrassment between the hedges and preview the fight against Mizzou in the most ridiculous manner possible. Leave a comment, and the show will try to share it on the broadcast.

You can find the new episode on KSR’s YouTube when it goes live or consume the audio-only version of KSR’s podcasts on Apple and Spotify.

Cats Favored Against Mizzou

As things stand now in the gambling world, Kentucky is the betting favorite in Saturday’s game, laying 2.5 points to Missouri. The total on the game is 53.5.

Kentucky is 3-2 against the spread this season, with three consecutive covers until the 38-point loss in Athens. The same is true of Mizzou. The Tigers covered three spreads in a row until losing at home to LSU.

UK Volleyball and Women’s Soccer Wins

KENTUCKY VOLLEYBALL

On Sunday, Kentucky Volleyball beat Ole Miss for the Wildcats’ fourth-straight win. Kentucky handled the Rebels at home in four (25-14, 26-28, 25-10, 25-11) in Rupp Arena. Hunter Mitchell has more on the victory here.

KENTUCKY WOMEN’S SOCCER

Also on Sunday, Kentucky Women’s Soccer defeated Vanderbilt to remain unbeaten this season. The Wildcats beat the ‘Dores at The Bell on UK’s campus, 2-0, Sunday afternoon to move to 8-0-5 on the season and 2-0-4 in league play.

Kentucky’s next game is Sunday at home against Mississippi State.

Big Blue Madness Week

Can you believe we’re only four days from the return of Kentucky Basketball? On Friday (THIS Friday!), the Kentucky fan base will meet the new Wildcats at Big Blue Madness 2023 at Rupp Arena. Tickets to the event went fast last month, so watch from home on SEC Network if you cannot attend.

Big Blue Madness begins at 7 p.m. ET on Friday night.

One Wildcat on Monday Night Football

Though the weekend is behind us, there is one more game on the NFL slate. Tonight, Carrington Valentine‘s Green Bay Packers are in Las Vegas to play the Wildcat-less Raiders on Monday Night Football.

Green Bay is getting two points on the road.

MLB Playoffs – Go Braves

There are two games on tonight’s MLB Playoffs schedule, both in the NL. First, my Atlanta Braves need a win after dropping Game 1 at home to Philadelphia. The Dodgers are in the same situation against the D-Backs in the second game of tonight’s doubleheader.

NLDS Game 2: Braves vs. Phillies, 6:07 p.m. ET (TBS)
NLDS Game 2: Dodgers vs. Diamondbacks, 9:07 p.m. ET (TBS)
