KSR Today: Final day of 2023 NFL Draft
Round four of the NFL Draft begins today at Noon ET. Over seven hours, we will fire through four rounds. Today is for the degenerates.
On Friday night, Kentucky quarterback Will Levis finally came off the board when the Tennessee Titans traded up to take the redshirt senior at No. 33 overall.
“I’m just ready to learn,” said the former Kentucky quarterback. “I just want to learn as much as I can from them and I want to be the best teammate that I can be going in there to compete, for sure. They’ve got a lot more experienced than I have in the NFL and I just want to learn from them and just do whatever I can to help the team win.”
Levis will be entering a great situation in Nashville. Ryan Tannehill is entering the final year of his contract and the general manager that selected Malik Willis is no longer around. The Kentucky quarterback has a great shot to earn playing time as a rookie.

NFL Draft: Day 3
On Saturday, two former Kentucky players come into draft range. Chris Rodriguez Jr. and Carrington Valentine should both hear their names called at some point this afternoon or early evening.
The New Orleans Saints will be on the clock when the draft begins at No. 103 overall. Both Rodriguez and Valentine could go off the board at any point. The safe bet is some time between round five and round six.
KSR will be locked through the duration of the event to provide coverage. Stay tuned as will breakdown where each player lands and what the fit looks like for them in the NFL. If you’re looking for an unexpected pick, keep an eye on Keidron Smith in the seventh round.

Kentucky baseball drops game one to Vanderbilt
After a disappointing mid-week loss to Louisville, the slide continued on Friday night for Kentucky baseball. The Bat Cats dropped game one to Vanderbilt to fall to 3-8 over the last 11 games.
Darren Williams made his fourth start of the season for Kentucky and received his first loss of the season. Williams lasted four innings, giving up five hits and five earned runs.
The Wildcats are in a vulnerable position for maybe the first time this season. If this trend continues, Nick Mingione’s squad may slip further down the NCAA Tournament seed list and maybe out altogether. That isn’t a worry at the moment, but it isn’t too far from reality.

Kentucky softball also drops a road game
Down in Starkville, Kentucky softball faced Mississippi State on Friday night. Things did not go well for the Cats.
Rachel Lawson’s club fell to 8-11 in SEC play following the 6-2 loss. This was only Mississippi State’s fourth SEC win of the season. A disappointing loss for Kentucky as the offense was nowhere to be found on Friday.

Sacramento Kings force Game 7
In San Francisco, the Sacramento Kings were facing elimination on Friday night. However, De’Aaron Fox and Malik Monk delivered when their team absolutely had to have it.
The former Kentucky duo combined to collect 54 points, 11 rebounds, and 15 assists. Head coach Mike Brown got some big shotmaking from the perimeter players to go along with efficient scoring thanks to 14 combined free throw attempts.
Stephen Curry (29 points on 21 shots) was not able to do enough to get the Warriors over the hump. The best series of the first round will play one more game. Game 7 is scheduled for Sunday.
Round two begins on Saturday night. The No. 4 seed Phoenix Suns will go up against the No. 1 seed Denver Nuggets in the Western Conference. The Suns are currently a three-point dog. TNT will have the coverage with an 8:30 p.m. tip. Expect Devin Booker and Jamal Murray to battle head-to-head in what could be an extremely fun and competitive series.
