KSR Today: The KSR Crew Attacks the Peach Jam
The Peach Jam is the pinnacle of travel basketball. The national championship tournament for Nike’s EYBL Circuit draws the best of the best to North Augusta, South Carolina. After a few early games, Jack Pilgrim and Zack Geoghegan will be representing Kentucky Sports Radio to see how the country’s top basketball players perform and talk to John Calipari’s top recruits. UK commit Robert Dillingham, Justin Edwards, DJ Wagner and Aaron Bradshaw are just a few of the players KSR will be watching today at the Peach Jam. That’s just the tip of the iceberg. They’ve already caught up with Edwards who is eager to announce his college decision next week. Follow Jack and Zack, and subscribe to Sources Say to make sure you don’t miss one minute of the action.
Alabama Day at SEC Media Days
Nick Saban is kind of a big deal. The greatest coach in the history of college football will draw a crowd before takes the podium at the College Football Hall of Fame at 9:05 ET on the SEC Network. He’s bringing with him a couple of players that could be the top two picks in next year’s NFL Draft, Will Anderson and reigning Heisman Trophy winner Bryce Young. Yes, Ring Guy made the trip to Atlanta.
Saban is the show-stopper, but the other three speakers might be just as intriguing to Kentucky fans. Vanderbilt’s Clark Lea will take the stage after Saban, followed by Mississippi State’s Mike Leach and South Carolina’s Shane Beamer.

Missouri is one of Kentucky’s Rivals?
Mark Stoops has dominated the annual Columbia series. Kentucky has a 12-2 record over South Carolina and Missouri since 2015. The folks in the Show Me State aren’t too happy about it. Yesterday defensive back Martez Manuel said he believes Kentucky is a bigger rival than Arkansas. “I just hate that White and Blue,” he said. It’s news to the Wildcats.

Big Blue Madness Campout is Back
Kentucky’s head basketball coach is ready to hit the reset button. After COVID-19 caused a couple of cancellations, Coach Cal is excited to bring the Big Blue Madness Campout back ahead of the 2022-23 season. Although details have not yet been released, you can plan on spending a few nights outside of Memorial Coliseum in September.
It was not the only headline John Calipari made on Monday. Coach Cal will be a part of Conference-USA’s Hall of Fame’s 2022 class. After speaking with a Memphis Tiger fan at SEC Media Days, I can assure you they are still very, very bitter.
Bat Cats taken in the MLB Draft
Four Kentucky baseball players heard their name called in this week’s MLB Draft. Shortstop Ryan Ritter was selected by the Colorado Rockies in the fourth round. He was followed by RHP Tyler Guilfoil (8th round, Houston Astros), RHP Sean Harney (8th round to Tampa Bay Rays) and infielder Chase Estep (9th round, New York Mets). It all led into an exciting Home Run Derby where Albert Pujols turned the clock back to 2005. Even though he did not win, it was great to see the old man swing his way into the semifinals.
