KSR Today: Sunday Funday on a Holiday Weekend

There are a lot of things to love about Sundays. Going home to your blue jeans. Eat some chicken and some baked beans. Pick a backyard football team. Those were Craig Morgan’s favorite things about a Sunday, but this Sunday is not your typical Sunday.
We’re on day two of a three-day weekend. Sure, you can not do much of anything, or you could get after it. And why not? Pools are open, fish are biting, and horses are running at Churchill Downs. It’s a great day to have a great day. Let’s enjoy it, Big Blue Nation. Here’s what’s on the slate.
SEC Baseball Tournament Title
The first-ever single-elimination, 16-team SEC Baseball Tournament is down to one final game in Hoover. The Vandy Boys crushed Tennessee 10-0 to reach the championship game. Ole Miss upset Arkansas and LSU en route to today’s title.
Who will win their third SEC Tournament Title in program history? Ole Miss and Vanderbilt square off at 1 PM ET on the SEC Network. National seeds for this year’s NCAA Tournament will be revealed today, but you’ll have to wait until noon on Monday to learn if Kentucky makes the field.
Happy Indy 500 Sunday!
Indianapolis 500 fans have received a gift from Mother Nature. The signature celebration for the victor is a big swig of milk. That’s not what I think of when I think of this race. It is without a doubt the hottest-looking annual sporting event. The cars are smoking around the track as the fans in the stands wilt away in the sun. This year, they’re getting some reprieve with 70-degree weather. Enjoy it, 500 fans.
The Indy 500 isn’t my thing, but I’m not going to yuck somebody’s yum. After all, I’m the Kentucky Derby guy. While my favorite horse race is more popular, these two events share more in common than differences. The biggest difference: It’s a lot harder to win money gambling on the Indy 500.
If you’re a 500 fan, you can lock into coverage for pretty much the entire day. Fox begins its broadcast at 10 AM ET, well before the green flag is waved at approximately 12:45 PM ET. Hopefully, it produces as much drama as the Wienie 500.

Can Pacers Take a 3-0 Lead?
The Indy 500 is the largest sporting event in the country, but it’s not even the biggest show in town this Sunday. The Pacers are returning to Indianapolis with two wins in the Eastern Conference Finals over the New York Knicks. The last time they had a 2-0 lead in the Eastern Conference Finals, the Pacers eliminated the Knicks in six games back in 2000.
This series feels eerily familiar to the one we just saw the Knicks play. New York was an underdog in Boston and pulled off a pair of upsets on the road to open the series. If history repeats itself, the Knicks will scratch and claw their way to a win. They’ve been at their best away from the Garden this postseason, winning five of six games on the road. The Knicks are 2-point underdogs. Tip-off is at 8:05 PM ET on TNT.
Thunder get Mollywhopped
If the Eastern Conference Finals are anything like the Western Conference Finals, the team down 2-0 is going to play with its hair on fire. The Timberwolves have always played above average defense. They cranked up the suffocation a couple of notches, then turned it into offense. Minnesota was running away with a win before the second half started, eventually pulling away for a 143-101 victory. The T’Wolves will try to even up the series tomorrow night at 8:30 PM ET.

You probably don’t want to relive a 4-8 campaign, however, laughter leads to healing. There’s no better way to laugh through the pain than by watching this compilation of KSR Rapid Reactions.
