2022 three-star defensive end Tomiwa Durojaiye is ready to make his college decision, choosing between Georgia Tech, Kentucky, South Carolina, Vanderbilt and West Virginia on Saturday, among 22 total scholarship offers.

The 6-foot-4, 255-pound defensive lineman out of Middletown High School (DE) tells KSR that he has his mind made up and is ready to make his commitment known to the public, adding that he has no time to waste with camp for his senior season set to begin on Monday.

“I start camp August 16 so just want to have my commitment over with and focus on my senior year and focus on the next chapter because I plan on enrolling in January,” Durojaiye told KSR. “I know I don’t have too much time to waste, too much time to play around.”

Some of the key factors he accounted for in the decision-making process? Early playing time and player development.

“One of the main things football-wise is early playing time,” Durojaiye said. “For me, I want to come in and have that spring ball, prove myself as a freshman, and at least play some meaningful reps, at least be that first sub-in guy. … Player development in terms of a coach that is going to take my game to the next level, that’s going to make my strengths weapons and anything I’m weak at–before I leave that university I want to be great at it before I go to the next level. Just taking my game to the next level. I would say the biggest thing for me is a staff that is going to help me separate myself from everybody else in the country because I know I’ll be willing to put in that work.”

Durojaiye has made trips to all five schools on his final list, with his most recent being an official visit to Kentucky at the end of July. Looking at his recruiting predictions, there are two consecutive Crystal Balls in favor of the Wildcats over at 247Sports and three consecutive FutureCasts on Rivals.

The three-star defensive end tells KSR that his announcement will be made on social media at some point between 5-6 p.m. ET on Saturday. Will the choice be Kentucky? It certainly appears we’re trending that direction.

Dekel Crowdus will not require surgery

Looking for more positive news for the Wildcats to get your Saturday morning started?

After a brief scare during practice Thursday, Kentucky freshman receiver Dekel Crowdus will not need surgery on his injured knee, KSR’s Ryan Lemond reported Friday. Various tests Thursday afternoon and Friday morning came back clean, with only a “minor setback” expected for the in-state standout.

“Great news from my man (Dekel Crowdus) this afternoon,” Lemond reported. “No surgery on his knee. Prayers answered. He’s a great kid who has worked his ass off. This is just a minor setback, and he’ll be back better and faster than ever!”

Kentucky’s had a tough run of luck this offseason with WR Clevan Thomas, LB D’Eryk Jackson and TE Keaton Upshaw all suffering season-ending injuries. Luckily for the program, Crowdus will not be the fourth.
