Good evening, KentuckySportsRadio.com readers and those of you trolling us from other fan bases. Tonight, I’m coming to you from Morgantown, West Virginia where the KSR Chevy Captiva is docked for the night after a long and successful voyage to New York City to see the Cats in Brooklyn.  It was an adventurous trip up north, one that probably could’ve been done by airplane, but we made it in and out of the city alive and we’re excited for the tour stop here in the city responsible for one percent of Anheuser-Busch’s alcohol sales every year. (That’s a real stat, people. These Mountaineers love their frosty beverages.)

Tomorrow morning we’ll make our way to Clear Channel Morgantown, wherever that is, for Tuesday’s edition of the radio show and then we’ll hit the road to Lexington for an unpack and re-pack and a night in our own beds.  Wednesday’s show will be back to normal, then we’re on the road again to Memphis, then somewhere between Memphis and Dallas, and then Dallas on Friday for Kentucky’s games against Baylor in the JerryDome. It’s #KSRAcrossAmerica, also known as the Guiness World Record for Conway Twitty songs played in one car in a seven-day span.

Matt and Duncan are currently out on the town, leaving me here to man the website ship.  So let’s run through the News and Views so I can walk across the street to see what’s happening at the Tilted Kilt before curfew.

Bill Clinton tried to attend Sunday night’s game.

Louisville fans are quick to tell you Bill Clinton is on their side, but that’s not entirely true. The 42nd President of the United States of America likes the Cats, too. He tried to attend the game in the Barclays Center Sunday night.

John Calipari tweeted that little tidbit, saying Clinton called him Sunday afternoon around 3:00 p.m. for a 20 minute conversation. Clinton told him he wanted to make the game but was unable to get there, but he plans to catch one in Rupp Arena later this season. “I hope he does so he can talk to my young team,” Cal said.

I look forward to reading your comments below.

UK will eat dinner at the George W. Bush Presidential Library in Dallas.

Keeping it presidential, Calipari said on his call-in show Monday night that his team will visit and dine at the George W. Bush Presidential Library in Dallas later this week leading up to Friday night’s game. The library is located on SMU’s campus, where Emmanuel Mudiay will take his talents next college basketball season. So it must be awesome.

Cal jokingly said his Republican friends will love that… I assume he’s referring to John Short.

No movement for Kentucky in the AP and USA Today Coaches polls.

The Cats remain at No. 3 in the AP and No. 4 in the USA Today Coaches poll this week, despite higher ranked Kansas dropping a game to Villanova. Ohio State jumped ahead of UK in the coaches poll, while Michigan State and Arizona held down the two spots ahead of UK in the AP.

Aaron Harrison named SEC Freshman of the Week.

Good for Aaron, but HOW THE HELL DID WILLIE CAULEY-STEIN NOT WIN SEC PLAYER OF THE WEEK?????

Florida’s Casey Prather and Mississippi State’s Craig Sword were named co-SEC Players of the Week, stealing it away from Cauley-Stein. The UK big man averaged 15 points, eight rebounds and eight blocks.

(15) UConn beat (12) Florida at the buzzer.

Oh wow. Shabazz Napier said he’s glad his first attempt at the game-winner was so bad so he could get another look.

Is this the new UK anthem?

I’ll let you decide. It’s the UK Remix of Drake’s “Pound Cake” by Fern Daddy Dollas. Enjoy.

Former wrestler Kevin Nash once smacked his coach after getting ejected against UK.

If you caught Monday’s radio show, you heard us talk about Stone Cold Steve Austin’s incredibly long interview with Kevin Nash and how we couldn’t turn it off on our way to New York.  Nash, a former Tennessee Vol, told the story of getting ejected against Kentucky after a fight with LaVon Williams. He then got into a fight with Tennessee head coach Don DeVoe in the locker room and “bitch-smacked” him, as he described it.

KSR’s own Richmond Bramblet dug up the article…

You’re welcome, wrestling fans.

The UK football staff isn’t taking vacation.

One would think the UK football coaching staff would take a few days off after a very disappointing first season, but they did not. They did quite the opposite, actually.  Mark Stoops and his assistants hit the recruiting trail to see Matt Elam in Elizabethtown. Elam tweeted a photo of the crew crowded around the family Christmas tree…

247Sports.com’s Crystal Ball currently has Alabama as the favorite for Elam with 58 percent of the expert picks to Kentucky’s 42 percent. Elam still plans to announce January 4 at the All-American Bowl in Texas.

That’ll do it for now, Cats fans.  Talk to you soon.
