We all know the real reason we watch the Super Bowl is for the commercials.

This year is bound to be a little different, as the world is a totally different place than in February of 2020, with a reduced capacity Super Bowl crowd and some major advertisers opting out of the traditional million-dollar ads.

Mega brands such as Coke, Pepsi, and even Budweiser chose to opt-out of this year’s traditional ads, with each offering similar statements about “resource allocation” and supporting COVID-19 relief rather than spending the money on the ads.

However, many brands are still participating this year and chose to pay the $5.5 million to get their name on the big screen during America’s priciest three hours.

KSR has chosen a few ads you can expect to see during tonight’s event.

1. Wayne’s World for Uber Eats

In the 2021 collaboration no one asked for, Wayne’s World is back and is starring in an ad for Uber Eats. Wayne’s World has been running a few ads with Uber Eats before the Super Bowl. I’ve seen them, and none make sense? Oh well. Uber Eats paid good money for the two chumps to spew nonsense, so I guess it was worth it for them.

2. Frito-Lay with a bunch of football stars

Marshawn Lynch, the Manning brothers, and Terry Bradshaw, among others, all star in this ad promoting the snack company Frito-Lay. It’s a bedtime story called “The Night Before the Super Bowl”, complete with Peyton and Eli in matching PJs while Archie Manning snuggles in a robe. It’s very cute and sure to be a crowd-pleaser, as there is plenty of NFL representation afoot.

3. Michelob Ultra with Anthony Davis

In a feel-good commercial, Michelob Ultra brings together star athletes that remind us that it’s not about the winning, it’s about the journey to get there. Stars such as Anthony Davis (who looks rather handsome with his NBA championship trophy) and Serena Williams (icon) laugh and drink Mich Ultra and just generally enjoy the ride. Oh, to be rich and talented.

Happy watching, and happy Super Bowl Sunday!
