After several lightning delays, postponements, and even a few cancellations, Week 2 of the Kentucky high school football season is finally in the books. Many start times on Friday were pushed back to later in the day, or even to Saturday, due to heat or storms. The Kroger KSR Game of the Week between Simon Kenton and Woodford County was canceled due to storms in Versailles and will not be made up.

As for this week’s updated rankings, Boyle County maintains the top spot after a 47-38 shootout victory over Lexington Christian Academy and Kentucky commit Cutter Boley. Male moved up to No. 2 due to a 37-3 thrashing of No. 23 Ballard, while Frederick Douglass climbed to No. 3 after winning 17-14 on the road at No. 8 Louisville Trinity.

The back end of the Top 25 saw plenty of movement, with four new teams that were not ranked last week and a couple of teams (Owensboro Catholic, Fort Thomas Highlands) jumping up six spots. Bullitt East saw the biggest drop after falling to then unranked PRP, sliding down 12 spots, while Louisville Ballard sank seven spots.
