We’re already approaching the halfway point of the 2023 high school football regular season in the state of Kentucky. The majority of teams throughout the Commonwealth have already played five games, as the best of the best begin to separate themselves from the pack. In this week’s KSR Top 25 rankings update, there was plenty of movement from top to bottom, but one school remains above the rest.

Boyle County maintained the top spot with a 49-3 win at Taylor County. Corbin moved up two spots to second with a 6-0 victory over Frederick Douglass, which dropped just two spots to No. 5. The Corbin-Boyle County rematch of last year’s 4A state title game may come in the 4A quarterfinals this season if Covington Catholic, now up to No. 6, holds on to the top RPI spot in the class

Elsewhere, Highlands moved up six spots while Raceland fell nine spots after the Bluebirds’ 40-0 road victory at Raceland. Louisville Central was knocked out of the Top 25 after falling 13-0 to Bullitt East, which jumped into the rankings as a result of the win.

As a rankings note, no team in the top 24 is ranked below a team that they defeated. Check out the entirety of the updated Top 25 below, along with class-by-class rankings. Last week’s rankings can be found here.
