Week 8 of the Kentucky high school football season is in the books. As always, that means KSR has updated statewide rankings.
Now in the midst of district play, the Boyle County Rebels continue to hold down the top spot following a 49-7 victory over Russell County this past Friday. Meanwhile, second-ranked Corbin picked up a 39-14 road win at Letcher County Central. Near the back of the rankings, Woodford County moved into the Top 25 after winning its fifth straight game, a 41-14 victory over Collins.
Elsewhere, DuPont Manual moved up nine spots after scoring a touchdown on the final play to defeat St. Xavier 37-36. Also in Louisville, Trinity knocked Ballard out of the rankings with a decisive 44-10 road victory. Those results set up a potentially juicy Trinity vs. St. Xavier matchup in a second-round playoff game this November. The Shamrocks rolled to a 45-10 win over St. X two weeks ago.
