The Covington Catholic Colonels, undefeated again in-state competition, moved up to the top spot in this week’s edition of the KSR Kentucky High School Basketball Top 25. They are seeking their first state title since CJ Fredrick was lighting it up at Rupp Arena back in 2018.

Meanwhile, Lexington Catholic moved up six spots to number two, and received a first-place vote from yours truly, after winning their own holiday tournament. The Knights used their trademark pressure defense to defeat Lyon County 73-53 in the semifinals and North Oldham 55-47 in the finals of the White, Greer, & Maggard Holiday Classic.

Warren Central, winners of the King of the Bluegrass Tournament the week before, fall two spots to third after losing to Madison Central in the first round at the WGM Classic.
