The 2023-24 Kentucky high school boys’ basketball season is fully underway.

Granted, we’re only two weeks into the schedule, but our rankings have seen a dramatic shift from (almost) top to bottom. The only constant? The Great Crossing Warhawks continue to hold down the top spot following a 5-0 start to the season.

Behind four-star junior center Malachi Moreno (17.4 PPG, 13.8 RPG) and junior guard Vince Dawson (22.4 PPG 5.0 RPG), Great Crossing has looked every bit like the state’s best team through the first couple of weeks. The Warhawks beat a pair of Top 25 opponents last week, taking down No. 6 Frederick Douglass (71-66) and No. 21 Ballard (88-60) in back-to-back days.

Elsewhere, there was plenty of movement within the updated rankings. Lexington Catholic, Covington Catholic, and Evangel Christian all broke into the top five while the likes of St. Xavier (+9), Butler (+12), Bowling Green (-13), and Cooper (-6) saw significant changes in their ranking.
