Round two of the Kentucky high school football playoffs is in the books, which means we have updated statewide rankings.

No. 20 Hart County remains undefeated following a 28-21 win over Glasgow in the Kroger KSR Game of the Week. Elsewhere, Cooper and Ballard each moved into the Top 25 after picking up road wins over ranked teams. Cooper knocked off Scott County 49-21 while Ballard won a wild double overtime game 48-42 over Manual. Additionally, four teams from last week’s Top 25 were eliminated from the postseason.

The state quarterfinals will take place this Friday. Here are my top games from each class.

  • Class 6A: No. 8 Frederick Douglass (7-4) at No. 3 Male (11-1)
  • Class 5A: Cooper (10-2) at Southwestern (9-3)
  • Class 4A: No. 2 Corbin (12-0) at No. 1 Boyle (12-0)
  • Class 3A: Central (7-5) at No. 7 Christian Academy-Louisville (11-1)
  • Class 2A: No. 6 Lexington Christian Academy (11-1) at No. 18 Mayfield (10-1)
  • Class 1A: No. 24 Raceland (9-3) at Sayre (12-0)

There is no set bracket. After this week’s quarterfinal games, the KHSAA will re-bracket the semifinals based on RPI. The final RPI numbers, which are locked in and will not change, can be found here
