KSR's Week 1 Kentucky High School Football Rankings
Week 1 of the 2022 Kentucky high school football season is in the books.
It was a terrific opening weekend of games across the state, headlined by multiple top-25 matchups. There was a slight change among the top-10 along with plenty of movement on down the rankings. Scott County moves into the rankings after a 20-17 win over then No. 13 Franklin County. Madison Central moves up five spots after edging out then No. 6 LCA.

1. St. Xavier (1-0)
DEF Owensboro 28-14: Don’Tre Richardson rushed for two scores to help the Tigers overcome a 14-7 deficit.
2. Frederick Douglass (1-0)
DEF Bryan Station 52-7: Kentucky commit Ty Bryant rushed for a score and returned a punt for a touchdown.
3. Boyle County (1-0)
DEF Madison Consolidated (IN) 50-2: New QB Sage Dawson had multiple touchdown passes and was named game MVP.
4. Male (1-0)
DEF Floyd Central (IN) 42-7: Daniel Swinney tallied 225 yards and three touchdowns on the ground.
5. Trinity (1-0)
DEF Carmel (IN) 17-7: Trinity held the Indiana powerhouse to 44 rushing yards and just seven points.
6. Beechwood (1-0)
DEF Fairdale 36-0: Mitchell Berger rushed for three scores.
7. Madison Central (1-0)
DEF Lexington Christian Academy 38-34: Hagan Harrison had three touchdown passes to Jayden West, including the game-winner with two seconds remaining.
8. Owensboro (0-1)
LOST TO St. Xavier 28-14: Kenyatta Carbon ran for 118 yards and a touchdown, Zachary Clark added a 50-yard pick six.
9. Johnson Central (1-0)
DEF Lafayette 37-8: Zach McCoart led the team’s powerful running game with 189 yards and three touchdowns.
10. Lexington Christian Academy (0-1)
LOST TO Madison Central 38-34: Kentucky target Cuttler Boley had 374 passing yards, two passing touchdowns, and one rushing touchdown.
11. South Warren (1-0)
DEF Highlands 49-14: New sophomore QB Bryce Button was 11-18 for 190 yards, two passings touchdowns, and one rushing score. The Spartans had three defensive scores.
12. DuPont Manual (1-0)
DEF Central 40-12: Zah’Ron Washington rushed for four scores.
13. Woodford County (1-0)
DEF LaRue County 43-8: Aden Nelson was named MVP in the Don Franklin Scottie Bowl game.
14. Corbin (1-0)
DEF Pikeville 24-19: Cameron Combs pair of short touchdown runs helped Corbin overcome an early 15-0 deficit.
15. Christian Academy of Louisville (1-0)
DEF South Oldham 38-0: Connor Hodge was 17-21 for 201 yards and one touchdown.
16. Mayfield (1-0)
DEF Graves County 38-0: Jutarious Starks had two rushing touchdowns and Zane Cartwright had two passing scores.

DEF McCracken County 54-14: Jack James had four touchdown passes.
18. Pikeville (0-1)
LOST TO Corbin 24-19: Tayvian Boykins rushed 10 times for 122 yards and two touchdowns.
19. Pulaski County (1-0)
DEF Belfry 34-21: Brysen Dugger was 16-24 for 221 yards, adding one passing touchdown and one rushing touchdown.
20. Lexington Catholic (1-0)
DEF Ryle 27-21: New QB Jackson Wasik had 217 passing yards and three touchdown passes, including a pair to Hunter Foster.
21. Scott County (1-0)
DEF Franklin County 20-17: Jacob Fryman rushed for 103 yards and two scores, including the game-winner in the final minutes.
22. Franklin County (0-1)
LOST TO Scott County 20-17: Gavin Hurst passed for 108 yards and rushed for 53 yards, including a score.
23. Southwestern (1-0)
DEF Madison Southern 27-19: After falling behind 19-0, Tanner Wright had four touchdowns to complete the comeback. He finished with 120 yards on 19 carries.
24. Bowling Green (1-0)
DEF North Hardin 23-14: Javen Huddleston rushed for two touchdowns.
25. Pleasure Ridge Park (1-0)
DEF Valley 60-0: Kayden Anderson passed for 360 yards and seven touchdowns, including two to Kentucky commit Jakob Dixon.
