KSR's Week 2 Kentucky High School Football Rankings

Week 2 of the 2022 Kentucky high school football season is in the books.

While there weren’t as many Top 25 matchups over the weekend as there were in Week 1, there was still plenty of movement in KSR’s state rankings. Trinity lost to Ohio powerhouse Archbishop Moeller while a battle in Louisville saw Ballard earn its first win over Male since 2009. Mayfield, which won the KSR Kroger Game of the Week on Friday against Hopkinsville 36-0, moved up one spot to No. 15.

KSR’s Week 2 Top 25 rankings

  1. St. Xavier (2-0): QB Trevor Havill was 5-6 for 95 yards and three touchdowns in a 44-8 blowout over Central. He added another score on the ground.
  2. Frederick Douglass (2-0): Kentucky commit Ty Bryant had a long touchdown run in the 57-8 victory over Tates Creek.
  3. Boyle County (2-0): Avery Bodner rushed for 117 yards and two touchdowns while Montavin Quisenberry had rushing and returning touchdowns in a 36-12 victory over Bryan Station.
  4. Trinity (1-1): The Shamrocks fell behind Ohio power Cincinnati Moeller 13-0 less than three minutes in and ended up losing 28-3. They crossed the 50-yard line only once before halftime.
  5. Beechwood (2-0): Mitchell Berger had 13 carries for 175 yards and three touchdowns in a 46-7 blowout over Paintsville. Antonio Robinson added receiving and rushing scores.
  6. Owensboro (1-1): Kenyata Carbon rushed 17 times for 204 yards and scored five touchdowns in a 62-18 win over Apollo.
  7. Johnson Central (2-0): Zack McCourt (eight carries for 133 yards; two total touchdowns) and Carter Conley (13 carries for 180 yards and four touchdowns) led the Golden Eagles in a 55-19 victory over Fern Creek.  
  8. Ballard (2-0): Kameron Horton blocked a field goal and Jaden Minkins scooped it up for a 66-yard touchdown to help Ballard shock Male 12-7 for their first win over the Bulldogs since 2009.
  9. Male (1-1): Daniel Swinney rushed for 117 yards and a score, but Male had trouble on special teams in a 12-7 loss to Ballard.
  10. South Warren (1-1): The Spartans fell to Hendersonville (TN) 28-22 and were not able to avenge their only loss of last season.
