KSR's Week 9 Kentucky High School Football Rankings

Week 9 of the Kentucky High School football season has wrapped up, which means we’ve updated our state rankings looking ahead to this Friday’s action.

Highlands moves into the Top 25 after ending a nine-game losing streak against Covington Catholic 32-21. Covington Catholic will likely have to travel to No. 2 Frederick Douglass for round two of the playoffs. Woodford County received a minor bump in the Top 10 after taking down Collins in the KSR Kroger Game of the Week.

KSR’s Week 9 Top 25 (+3) rankings

  1. St. Xavier (7-1): Defeated Butler 38-6 – Mike Curry rushed for two scores.
  2. Frederick Douglass (8-0): Defeated Great Crossing 54-0 – Branndon Brooks, Tashawn Benford, and Isaiah Kenney each scored defensive touchdowns.
  3. DuPont Manual (7-1): Defeated PRP 28-19 – Zah’Ron Washburn rushed for 211 yards and four touchdowns to help Manual overcome a halftime deficit.
  4. Ballard (7-1): Defeated Eastern 34-0 – Jaden Minkins returned a punt for a touchdown.
  5. Corbin (8-0): Defeated Lincoln County 63-0 – Kade Elam passed for three touchdowns.
  6. Christian Academy of Louisville (8-0): Bye
  7. Lexington Catholic (7-1): Defeated Bourbon County 49-0 – Max Mooring and Blake Foster each rushed for three scores.
  8. Boyle County (7-1): Defeated Anderson County 36-0 – Sage Dawson passed for 314 yards and four touchdowns.
  9. Woodford County (8-0): Defeated Collins 41-28 – QB Andrew Nason rushed for 187 yards and two scores while Preston Stacy rushed for three touchdowns.
  10. Male (5-3): Defeated Fern Creek 50-0 – Kolter Smith passed for 229 yards and four touchdowns.
